you in to smokepole season or plain rifle?

 

Got this pair of electric Rad bikes this morning. Deal was too good to pass up. Going to rig the big one for hunting and sell the small one. Should make getting way into public land a lot easier

 

Archery ,crossbow started today. I think there might be a early muzzleloader season in the northern zone . Here it’s not until after rifle which is mid December .

 

Rifle is the 3rd Saturday in November, archery started 10/1 but crossbow yesterday.

 

I say go for it. Generally if an area is that heavily used for travel and cover the deer should still be using it. They may not be as abundant maybe... But from the sounds of it that place is probably productive every year. Let us know what you encounter. When are you gonna plan to try it out?

I was going to wait until mid next week because it seems to be a better afternoon spot and I need a north wind...which should be Wednesday. But,,, I can make a big loop around the left side of the thicket and hunt it mornings with a south wind. So Monday morning it is.

Saw one doe this evening, did some walking midday...it still doesn't seem to be happening in my neck of the woods. I expect that to change very soon. Good luck everybody!

 

Had a good hunt to tonight. Saw 2 mature bucks 3-4 small bucks and a bunch of does. The bucks are scent checking and dogging but no hard chasing.

 

I'm going crazy down here. Been doing quite a bit of scouting, there just ain't much to see yet. Hell, that could change tomorrow tho.

Yep. Prolly the day my vacation is over.

 

I think its on the verge here too...the summer patterns have changed and now it about to change for the rut!

 

I've also got a nice Hoyt Carbon Defiant 30, 70lb limbs with the 26-28 inch cam I'll sell. Has a vapor trail drop away (brand new) and spot Hogg single pin (brand new). Beestinger 10-8 front/rear stabs. Newish 60x strings also $750 firm. $1800+ invested.

The pic is a little older. It has a new sight and rest on it but the rest sits the same. I bought an RX-1 and haven't touched this one since. It's a great bow. Shot several deer with it. Fast and quiet.

 

Just kicking off here too, no open deer season for 2 more weeks then it opens back up for late season archery and muzzleloader

 

my buddy just told me to come to his farm in VA in the morning. my other buddy said he seen 20 bucks in WV this morning. things seems to be getting there in WV
