New oil filter assembly

    Could someone please educate me on all the model years that Toyota has this new stupid oil filter assembly please?

    2016+ have plastic oil filter housings.

    You can buy a 2010 Venza oil filter housing that is aluminum that lasts longer.

    The 4 bangers still use standard filters.

    Its not that bad after you change it a couple times, only takes a few extra minutes.

    Yes it is dumb....my brother has highlander and a new rav...both have it, but once you've done it, it gets better.

    Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
    Get the aluminum housing off any Toyota with the older 3.5 (highlander, Camry, Avalon, sienna) it’s far superior and screws right in. No fear of it breaking and it doesn’t tend to tighten up over the miles between oil changes

    Make sure you drain the filter before unscrewing it, makes it easier too.
