I have heavy duty Dakars. Besides axle wrap will not increase idle RPM.

I've been avoiding this rabbit hole until yesterday. I have really liked the simplicity of the UCON. But now Scott says he can't tune the 650cc FIC flow matched injectors. Was about to throw those in along with a 2.6 pulley and some maintenance. But that's on hold till I figure this HPtuner thing out. Last i read, we still need a TRD flashed ecu? Or is there a work around? Is @JustDSM still helping out with tuning? Will be studying this thread...

Yes he is. Read post #4770. He tuned my ECM a couple of weeks ago. I'm VERY happy with it. I'm running stock injectors & naturally aspirated but just wanna say I have ZERO regrets getting my ECM tuned.

Yes sir! I'm still around and will be happy to get you dialed in on the FIC 650's if you chose to install them. You'll need to have a TRD flashed ECU or a Bully Dog tuned ECU to use the HPTuners MPVI2 on a Supercharged truck.

Myself and others are here if you need assistance with that or anything else moving over to HPTuners. Let us know how we can help.

Justin nailed it on the tune in my Tacoma also. Couldn’t be happier. About to fill it up and see if I get an improved gas mileage

2010 TRO here, 180k, stock everything but 18” after market rims with 33’s. I’ve been considering a chip tune, and I know there are tons of threads on which one to go with. Here’s my question for this thread: what long term impact does chip tuning have on engine life?

If the tune is done proper (which JustDSM's are) There should be zero harm to the motor, no difference in protection vs stock.

Done probably close to 10k miles from april till now with a JustDSM tune (hell did 1200 miles this past weekend) with zero issue, better drive ability, better auto trans shifting etc etc. I wont go back to a stock tune thats for damned sure.

I would go so far as to say a proper tune will net you increased longevity as opposed to the can tune Toyota does from the factory. Everything can be dialed in to your specific trucks needs.

I found out that ProCharger is using HP Tuner for their tune on the soon to be released 1GR-FE kit. @HPTuners does that mean you will support the 1GR Dual VVT-I in the T4R soon?

Seriously hope they support the 2TR at some point! Would love a performance/93 tune for the 2.7

I know its in here somewhere, but I can't find it right now. How does one turn off the cat over temp, so I'm not killing power in the dunes? Just turn off component prot enrich?

    That would disable it, correct.

I would urge caution in doing so unless you know what that action will entail. There is enrichment for knock retard that would also be disabled if you did use that method.

    You’re welcome to do so!

To keep the knock enrichment, leave it enabled, but zero the main EQ table.

Some of the very early calibrations had the master switch disabled if the customer requested COT be disabled.

I’ve revised that “method” to what was quoted.
