Coming from a forester turbo. So fun but Hated the cvt trans. It was a slug from 600rpm-2000. Then it took off. Put 70000 miles on it. I hated puttng wet crap inside. I surf climb and snowboard. So it was always wet inside. Glad I got the truck. But miss the subi

Can’t believe they’re not selling those here anymore. Can’t find them on lots. I haven’t looked into it, but it must have dug into mustang sales.

The Marketing guys at Ford only come up with the best ideas. Get rid of the RS and build a mustang crossover. Second only to a Nissan Murano convertible

Quite the opposite. Not enough of them sold, so ford cut the car from US market. They were plagued with engine and transmission problems early on and a lot of potential buyers got scared off, which didn’t help. Really unfortunate.

Ford cut all of their cars from the US market except the mustang (last I saw). You couldn’t find an RS on a lot, much like a Civic Type R.

My wife drives turbo-lawnmower Civic Si. We swap cars often to have different driving experience. Si is much fun as is, and will be way more fun when I do intake and intercooler upgrade followed by Stage 1 tune.

I also love to take Si for a long crosscountry trips when we don't need to haul bikes. 40 Mpg is nice.

Both are manual. It runs strong in family:)

Plagued?....FOMOCO used the head gasket (HG) from the eco boost mustang...why..no clue..RS head and eco boost head are not identical..So they "recalled" 16 and most 17 model years for a pressure test and the appropriate head gasket...Which if done properly solved the only major issue I'm aware of...I've got over 43K on my 17 and the HG was replaced 26,000 miles ago...

Agreed, not the biggest deal in the world, but I know a few people who didn’t want to deal with that and bought other cars instead. And talked to a ford tech who said that people were trading in RS’s for other cars to avoid the issue.

I think my Tacoma is more of my fun practical vehicle and it enables me to do so many outdoor activities. Plus I love being in a higher vehicle for daily driving. I plan to keep it for the long haul. And resale value is awesome. But, after a few years of ownership I wanted to go fast again like many turbo cars I have had in the past. So I picked up a Type R a few months back. Not only does that give me the fun factor but has a lot of room to carry stuff since it is a hatchback. The fast car though is really just a weekend driver though since I don't have as much fun driving in traffic with a stickshift. So my feeling is, keep the taco and maybe somewhere down the line get a fun sorta car for kicks. A family should always have a truck.

Figured I'd chime in since I'm new here. Just traded my 2016 WRX for a 2019 TRD Pro. Before that was a 2013 GTI, 2006 Evo, 2010 Ralliart, 2004 Ion Redline. Made the jump to a Tacoma just because I was seriously sick of daily driving my project car. Now its time to save up and get another

Owned my Evo for 7 years now, its gotten me through 0 deg. winters in NY and traveled with me to Hawaii while I was stationed there for 3yrs. I got the Taco last year so I didnt have to daily my project car. I can now put it up on jack stands and do the bigger maintenance items I have been waiting to do like replace the CVs and clean the engine and transmission from grease that was slung up by the torn boots.

how do you like the R? I finally test drove one the other day and while I was super impressed and think it would be a great DD it was just not nearly as raw as the STI or Evo

Nice looking subi. My wife has the ‘15 xt and our cvt was... okay. I could never tell if it was boost fluctuation or the cvt being goofy but it would kinda stutter unless I punched it. Every oil change I would mention it. About a year ago they flashed a new software version and it’s a totally different car. No stutter just smooth up to 2k rpm then nice boost all through.

Used to drive an bugeye wrx. Then a 2002 Tacoma. Currently a mazdaspeed3 and looking to buy a new Tacoma. Plan is to keep the new Tacoma half a dozen years, get bored and get a turbo again. Seems to be my cycle.

This thread got me seriously looking into owning a subaru to share daily duty with my truck... I have no idea what the value of these things are...anyone care to give me a ballpark estimate for this? 2005 wrx 123k on chassis, new engine with 45k miles (with paperwork) sti turbo /intercooler/ Injectors, some other little parts that dont add much value. Not a fan of the lowering springs and wheels but those can be easily changed.

Obviously I'm just looking for a very rough estimate with the little details I have

My username is actually what I used to sign up for my first forum, clubwrx.net since at the time I had a 2006 WRX Limited (I’m lazy, why remember a new one?). By the time I sold it she had a full stage 3 setup (VF39, full exhaust, ported and polished exhaust manifold, Tial 38mm EWG, etc) Tein coilovers, CF driveshaft, tuned by Hill at AIG (298/325) yada yada. Loved that car, wish I’d held on to it.

Man, seeing this makes me miss my old wagon even more, before I sold it when I was in California. Mine was an 04 though. I would say with that mileage and other parts, I think this would sell between 8k-10k. I sold mine with 156k on the odomoter for $8,500 i think.
