    Hey guys,

I've been looking around and haven't found anything so I figured I would probe here. I'm trying to find some pictures or diagrams of the safest way to run the wiring harness for an arb compressor from the driver side cubby to the engine bay.

    Thanks,

I had the same issue when I installed mine. I couldn't find anything so I ran mine along the frame, "near" the exhaust but behind the heat shield and up into the engine compartment.

I used the Expedition Essentials ARB mount and wiring harness. I ran it down to the frame rail along behind the gas tank and kept going. I don't know where you plan on placing a switch, but I had to go up under the hood because mine is connected to a Switch Pro. To inside the cab, there's a ton of grommets underneath to punch through. Under the hood, you can follow the frame rail until about the cab mount. I paralleled some foil covered wires that are already there and up to the Switch Pro. Everything has been underwater a few times and no problems. And these aren't the only wires I have on the same path (rock lights, CB antenna, and something else).

Good, that's the same path I took

Thanks guys. I have the expedition essentials harness so I’m just trying to make sure it won’t melt anywhere.

Only place to worry about is up front near the exhaust manifold if you run it the same way I said, but I have unsheathed wire there that hasn't melted yet.

Also put a 30amp breaker on the battery for your cable. Blue Seas are good, you can switch off the whole cable when not in use.

Unsheathed hot?? I put a high temp split loom on mine. Will try to find a source, I bought it a while ago from a now closed electric supply store.

Not like that! I was trying to think of a way to describe it. It doesn't have the plastic sheathing like the EE harness. Just the rubber or plastic or whatever. It's trailer wiring so I'm not worried about it.

I understand- unsheathed just has a single layer of insulation on it. I hope you have a breaker on it.

If you Google high temperature split loom wire, there’s some suppliers on Amazon. It’s rated to go to 300°, which isn’t bad in that it also protects the wire from sharp points, and hopefully rodents, just in case. Either way, definitely put a breaker in between the battery and the cable.

It's wired to a Switch Pro. I have plans to clean up all my wiring. I've been slowly collecting parts and pieces.

Not familiar with it. Is there a fuse between the battery and hot cable? If you offroad, vibrations may rub through the single sheath. I speak through a :anonymous:... burnt out an entire harness behind a dashboard once due to that. If we had a fuse on the battery, it would have stopped. Funniest thing was my coworker wouldn’t get out of the truck while that acidic melting plastic electrical smoke was filling the cab, even with me standing there hollering at him. I don’t know what he was thinking of trying to do, but it certainly didn’t work!

It's an accessory controller with built in circuit breakers.

    Is it near the battery?

Expedition Essentials mount and harness is definitely the way to go.
