The chrome strip on top is hardly noticeable given the reflectors in the light itself. If you haven't seen a light in person, you should. I mean it wraps around it so I guess you can see it, but it kinda works out. I'm not a chrome guy either.

The rumor is TRSAndrew won’t be selling Tacoma conversion harnesses until Q1 2020.

I have been working with a very qualified individual on a Tacoma “Plug-N-Play” conversion harness and received a prototype last week. It will allow owners of 2016-2019 Tacoma’s with factory LED DRL’s to painlessly convert to the brand new 2020 OEM LED headlight assemblies. Stay tuned, more to follow soon...

I just got back from adjusting them and driving in the dark with them for the first time.

Overall I like them. I think from stock halogens they are a great upgrade. I had 35w Morimoto's and I don't think they are much if any better than those lights, particularly low beam. That's not really a surprise though.

I think if I was looking at these i'd still say the HID's are the way to go given the cost.

Again, I went this route since I had a broken headlight anyways.

Someone should make tabs that replace the "TRD"/ "PRO" for the headlights with cool horizontal slits instead.

    Like attached....

The sequential turns and side marker lights are cool as hell.

Would likely need a frosted diffuser along with the slits. It’s a reflector style bucket behind. (At least my TRD ones were) not sure if PRO is the same. Otherwise the light looks a little spotty.

P.S I kinda dig these “trailing sequentials” more than the Morimoto style. Something about it’s quick fade off that isn’t too revealing, yet shows its custom side.

what’s crazy is the efficiency of these lights. Not a whole lot of LEDs, but they are all maximized with Celis rods for diffusion.
Example; the entire side marker ring is only lit by 2 LEDs. (At each end of the horseshoe)

HID over LED headlights to save a mere $400? Pay to play all day. :)

    You’re calculating just one headlight.

Sounds like you're listening to the wrong people

This harness will be built to be compatible with ALL 2016-2020 models, not just those with OEM LED DRLs. We'll also offer a long warranty and a low price.

Considering that the HIDs in a projector assembly will have a better overall light fill (saturation) and project light to a greater distance, I'd opt to save and have a better overall outcome.

Converting to the OE LED headlights is a primarily a cosmetic upgrade, with a marginal improvement over stock. If you're patient HIDs can be purchased for about $120. As mentioned already, $400 is a low estimate for one headlight. Im seeing these for 5-600 individually, so its closer to $880 less to go HID.

The adapters alone cost almost as much as the HID kit I had.

Do you have any idea if they fit the 2020 as well?

Yes they do, they are actually a option on the 2020, I believe. But if the truck doesn't come with them, they are certainly plug and play. Maybe a 20 minute install at most.

These are the OEM LED fog lights that come with the LED headlight upgrade on the 2020. Just make sure to get the black or chrome bezel depending on preference. Both are options.

How long after ordering did they take to ship the lights out to you? I placed an order for the TRD Pro set.
