You can certainly readjust later. That is one nice thing about the system.

Just a thought. If the Softopper rails are too far inboard / outboard, the force of the clamp could rotate them. Sorry if I am being overly simplistic, but are the Softopper rails 1/2in from the inside face of the bed rails?

At least a 1/2 inch. They're slightly bowed left to right. The center-by the fenders, are furthest outboard.

Ohhh that's right, I do. But the piece in the end of the rail is different. Mines all metal.

I haven't been able to get a pic yet, but it's the same bracket they show in the video.

My end piece is all metal also and my tailgate bar is curved. I think they changed them to what @tonered has a while ago though.

    Interesting seeing the changes.

The plastic end piece on mine seems to be fiber reinforced nylon.

In AZ, I'm glad I have the all metal, but we'll see I guess.

I have no idea yet. I am used to bare canvas tops. I didn't do anything with the tonneau, but it wasn't a long term thing and I took it off for the dry summer weather.

I'm not sure what I'm doing with the Softopper yet in the summer. I might use it from time to time? It comes off and goes back on friggin' fast.

My big question is what to do to preserve the window clarity. Our convertible had a glass window. 303, isopropyl, a bit of Dawn and water, or ?? I haven't googled yet.

Edit: alcohol and detergents like Dawn are said to be not good for vinyl windows. Don't use these!

303 has been working well for me also works well with the other plastic trim on the truck Went ahead and got the big bottle on Amazon and a spray bottle,

I’m using the white stuff, I was trying to do research on the difference between the two, but I couldn’t find it in 5 minutes so I gave up lol, but it seems there’s really not a difference just packaging/labeling.
