I couldn't afford two car payments and he needed a work truck. Now I got it back with about 20 new dents and scratches so I'll be trading it in sometime next year.

I had a TJ with a 4.5" and 33" baja claws. It rode like shit and didn't have power steering, also only had the 2.5 liter so it had to go.

 

what a bummer. When the time comes you thinking of trading it on what you were looking at earlier, fj, 4runner etc?

That tj seems like it would look cool but I can see why it wasn't so practical.

Well what is it to start? I'm not very familiar with the crawling scene.

 

this is brand new

had to build new plates for some of the 4 link suspension because they mounted the 4 points to the axle with plastic so.... this is what i mad with axiel shafts

mine isn't a popular crawler but cheap. its an exceed r/c mad crawler can get one for 124 new. of on a different site you can get one for 250 new

 

these are the axial bars that i got.

 

If you don't like stripping gears then don't go brushless.

 

All that suspension work is neat. I bet you are learning a lot from messing around with it.

 

well the thing is this there are 6 gears in the rear driveshaft and there are 6 in the front.
3 of the 6 gears in each one are plastic

 

yah you learn some things im going crawling as soon as my new plastic gears come in. hopefully machine shop at my tech school can make me a full metal set that would be nice

 

If you can find metal go for it. I have all metal with the exception of my spur and a gear in the tranny (I think the idler but not 100%) that keeps failing on me.

If you can't find a metal spur or pinion go down in pitch to make the teeth themselves thicker.

 

well the awesome thing is in my truck i have a total of 12 gears thats it. motor on the front and rear axle. so hopefully i can get some made

 

haha. 12. That's quite alot. That would add up fast to switch over to all metal.

 

only 6 and they are the same in the front and back so they would just make duplicates of the original 3

 

Well if you are making them that's good. I was referring to buying 12 metal gears.

 

yah no wont do that lol. but my plastic ones for the complete plastic set 48t 40t and i forget what the other tooth count was is like 3.49

 

hey guess i haven't been on much i have been busy and trying to get everything all situated i moved back to Colorado due to school issues in daytona so i wont be attending any more trips sad to say but ima plan a big trip to moab next summer if any one wants to road trip it out there i will be getting a date together soon and could tell you when me and my buddies will be there
