I have no doubt he has some decent threads. However, in this thread he supposed to be the moderator but he acts like a garden variety troll.

 

I honestly have no idea why any / a great majority of the Drifter owners or fan boys come into this thread to crap on the GFC. There hasn’t been a single thing said that’s been helpful or beneficial, and I have no idea what y’all get from keyboard clacking, to make people feel bad about spending $5k+. It’s pretty damn childish and a bad face for VO. Leave this space for GFC owners to figure out their solutions, not cluttering it, and go talk about it in the Drifter thread.

Sorry guys. I don’t spend much time on here. I pop in,look at my shit, and leave. All I see from ‘moderator’ is shit talking. I hope he’s an awesome guy on all his other posts.
I just come here for info - gfc and when I need info on other truck stuff - including problems. I bought a brand new model truck (2016) and it’s been useful getting info.

hell, I didn’t even know there was such a thing as a GFC or the other brands - I followed the drifter for a long time before I decided a gfc fit my needs better.

only thing I’ve seen from ‘moderator’ is this thread. And on this thread - it’s just been crap.

I actually unsub’d because of the stupid shit (mainly from u kno who). I just check back in every once in a while to see what’s new - and in this case to report stuff to those that actually have a GFC or are considering buying one.

I kinda don’t giv a shit about any of the other shittalkers. isn’t this a GFC thread?

Yes, but the shitshow is frequently instigated by the owners/supporters of drifters. It’s annoying when this thread can be kept clean for GFC discussion without the added mess. It’s the TW way though to turn everything into a BS thread.

 

I’m not on any other thread saying stupid shit about anybody else’s camper/canopy/product. I like the drifter and some of the other campers. But the GFC fits what I want better.

I’m not sure why the General douchebaggery here. But it is what it is. Of course with anything of importance re the GFC I post over there. However, I learned about the GFC from TW so as a courtesy I post over here as well.

 

Sorry your feelings are hurt after you bought something that’s had issues.
Not my problem however. Issues are issues regardless who happens to speak on it.

I see a bunch of GFC owners trying to communicate their experiences, good and bad, for the purpose of open discourse, while several people stir the pot for the sake of it.

Get the fuck over yourselves and open your eyes to the flaws you have already mentioned in this thread. Because someone else repeats the issues it’s all of a sudden offensive? And instead of admitting the flaws you make it into a one side vs the other? JFC you guys are sensitive.

Have these owners not opened eyes by posting about it? We're all just jaded GFC fanboys now, too? I think these owners are trying to work through, and make publicly known, the issues. To say no one's admitted it? Really? What would the shit stirers be repeating then?

 

How about this, how much have I shot myself in the foot by listing my issues if I try to sell this thing?

Wife and I have talked about a bigger camper or trailer now that we have space with our new house.

Would have to sell the GFC before we could move on to something else.

I already asked in the GFC forum, but do you think there's a market for the early campers?

Not to wade into the middle of a shit storm but I think the market on new or early can’t be particularly strong at the moment. The hype train tumbled forward on social media and their own forum, but even those areas are faltering with the repeated issues.

I think the best resale is probably on a reservation spot, since most will hope the issues aren’t there by that time. The existing campers are a wildcard, can’t imagine the pool of buyers aren’t aware of issues and covering their bases with what their financial comfort is if they have to inherit the same failures. Like I said before, it really sucks and puts owners in a bad situation. Customer service isn’t a reliable asset because it changes, sometimes drastically. At the end of the day the product has to stand on its own feet and be successful. If the social media hype train, free GFCs and expedited GFCs to “influencers” wasn’t already strong before things started to fail, I don’t think the GFC story would be what they believe it to be today.

 

Again, someone with no skin in the game taking up other people’s time.

I actually own a Drifter, but I honestly don’t know what skin in the game you have (or what purpose you serve).

 

As long as you aren’t trying to turn a huge profit by selling a GFC you won’t have a problem. You could easily sell it for the price you paid simply because there is no wait time and it’s an immediate $1000ish savings. It’s fairly well known that GFC does a good job taking back campers for warranty work as needed and if someone bought yours and had it rebuilt with new hinges/seals for free they’d still have a basically new camper for less money and wait time than a new order.

 

Ah and there it is. Apparently I need to blow 5k+ to be able to discuss issues with a open market item? Got it.
