Alabama Mountain Biking Thread

I haven't had a chance to ride since Oak Mtn. I need to ride.

 

Definitely need to get out on the bike soon then. I would go again this weekend, but I'm wheeling again at Hawk Pride Friday through Sunday.

 

yeah I've got a lot going on at home that's put wheeling on the backburner, but biking can be a quick thing to get in.

on that note, I believe I now have 3 new permanent residents at my home...

I'd be at Windrock but this is a bachelor party for a good friend of mine. And on top of that, everyone else is wheeling their POS that's gonna get stuck/break on the trail so I need to be there to help things not suck so much.

she accepted an offer, it's contingent on appraisal so we will see how it goes. she was just having to transport Leo and Lily over like every other day for something going on with this process so yesterday she just up and said "I think we may just move in now" and I was good with it. Kinda been trying to get her to for a while, but she wanted to wait till we were engaged. That'll be happening soon though, just the timeline got all wonky with this house stuff and everything so this is how the cards are falling.

thanks fellas, I'm excited about it for sure because it will be so much easier on both of us. today was a good example of it just getting ready this morning she didn't have to drive over to the house to drop Leo off and go to work. I had her coffee made and she tended to the dogs. worked well. I hope we get through the selling process pretty easily because that will just make everything better.

 

yeah I'm addicted to them too, Blake and Martin together are the best. I just like the incredible amount of effort Seth puts in his videos.

 

I'm a fan of both actually. Ya'll check out the Park Tool channel. Really high quality maintenance videos.

 

did you see the collection of Park Tool stuff at REI? thought that was neat. they do good videos too, I just don't watch much maintenance stuff at the moment since my bike is well....poopy. lol. maintain it too well and I won't be able to justify a new one.

 

Yeah, I want to just buy a nice, small toolbox and buy all the Park Tool tools and have an MTB specific box that doesn't get dirty from wrenching on a truck.

I'm referring to a box that stays at home, separate from the others.

I wanted it so I can be capable of taking care of whatever happens back at the truck so that if something more than minor occurs I can keep riding after some repair. just don't want a ride to be over because I didn't have a bike specific tool or something

 

You aren't wrong. It just comes back to preference. My truck/ fab tools get filthy and I don't want them near my expensive mountain bike. And besides, the bike specific tools are just easier on the bike and less prone to over torqueing something. I just like having specific kits for my hobbies.
