better than last year. He might be the only race truck with air bags lol. Looks like it's time to ditch 4wd and get a spindle up front.

Just keep waiting, it'll start soon.

We stopped in Page, AZ to see Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. We trucked our way to Memphis, TN - checked out the nightlife and visited Graceland.

You on facebook? All my pics are on there.

    Hi Everybody!

Sorry I've been offline lately. It's kinda the way it'll be for awhile, at least during the day. The company started monitoring internet usage. :spy:

The race was awesome and everyone seemed to have a great time. I know I did. The Primm course is brutal, but I got to see the worst parts so I'll be more prepared for next year. Last year I broke because the truck wasn't ready. This year I broke because I'm an inexperienced racer. I feel a whole lot better about that second one since it's something that's truly unavoidable.

I still have to pull the truck off the trailer and have a good look at everything, but as of right now this is what I know:
. Smashed the hell out of those BudBuilt skids. The front one is probably pushed in a solid 6-8 inches. I'll go with them again because they held up very well considering the abuse I put them through.
. The rear leaf packs are sagging bad. I used to have around 8" of compression, but after that race it's more like 5". That won't do.
. The engine oil pan definitely took some abuse. I'll know for sure how bad it is once I pull those skids, but it's a safe assumption that it'll need replacing. The engine internals are good.
. Lots of rubbing on the front fender wells. A big hammer will take care of that.
. Coil binding on the front driver's side. That surprised me, and I'll see what I can do about that. Might go with stiffer springs so I don't have to preload them as much.
. Mashed the cross member that the steering rack attaches to. That'll need to be cut out and replaced.
. That stupid differential drop was pushed right through the cross member. Yet another reason why they're a bad idea.
. The rear leaf packs lightly rub the frame in some circumstances. Not a problem for short races but not a great idea for a long one.
    . I need a new steering wheel. :p

Plans are to fix what's listed there, plus reinforce more stuff. Engine cage is on the list. I also have air bumps that I still need to mount.

I'm definitely keeping the truck 4wd since that's most of the wheeling around here. I would have had the same clearance issues without the differential, although those lift spindles would have earned their keep that day. ;)

I still have to go through my trip pictures and will post them as I can. I'll also post breakage pics as I take them.

Thanks again to everybody for the support! It was an amazing year and next year should be even better! :)

Is it a viable option to pull the cv's and drop in lift spindles and other necessary adjustments before the race or would it be more of a hassle than it's worth?
