Thanks for the work you put into these reviews. I have the BD squadron sport fogs on my truck, and I really like the look of them, but I'm getting tired of not having usable fog lights. They just have too much glare, and I never use them on the road anyway for fear of blinding everyone else on the road. I had high hopes for the BD sae fogs but we all know how that went. I think if BD doesn't respond back in this thread with their independent test results and a plan to fix the glare issue in the next couple days I'll have to pick up some of these 360's.

If a company was serious about SAE compliance and street pattern safety, they would issue a stop ship on a non-compliant product till the issue is resolved. As far as I know, they have had the data for weeks and are still shipping.

Edit: See comments below, looks like they stopped selling the light as ‘backordered with no expected ship date’.

They publicly stated so, so I believe they will.

Looks like they missed the vehicle kits that include the SAE lights, but that is a good sign that they are addressing the issue.

How is the serviceability on the Rigid 360s? That was a big selling point when I bought my BD sports but I can't use those on the road :(. If I crack a lens on the BD's, they'll be super easy and inexpensive to replace. Is that the case for the Rigid?

Rigid's lights are not promoted as serviceable, but it is the same in concept to unbolt the face and replace the lens. However they do not sell replacement lenses like Baja and opening them up voids the warranty. They do have a lifetime warranty though, so I'd think you'd still be covered, you'd just have to contact them for how to handle the repair. Admittedly not as convenient. In 5+ years though I’ve never ran into the issue of needing to replace the lens, though I have almost had to replace an entire light from damage on the trail.

The SAE products are now removed from their site. I suspected they were making those changes when the site crashed.

Edit: Nevermind, the SAE products are still there with the backorder no ship date notice.

Good. I’m very curious to see how they plan on making this right. Buy back, replacement, retrofit or ?

Technically it should be a product recall. Replacement would be very expensive, it should be fixable by switching the internal optics.

I was over optimistic in thinking they were releasing an actual SAE product, like a version of their pod with modified optics for an SAE fog pattern. Not drop in color changing LED lights that imply a manufacturing materials certification as a type of beam pattern compliance.

@Baja Designs I have your SAE selective yellow fogs. If indeed you decide that these will need to be changed, will you retrofit our lights that bought the SAE’s to make them right?

Yes, we are just finalizing a couple of things, videos. pictures, making sure we have a good amount of stock. Our 15% off sale is going on while we are finalizing our roof rack as well. Its madness over here lol!

That’s great! The more options in the SAE market space the better for everyone. I look forward to adding them to the thread once they are released! :)
