Open up your dash. On the back of your odometer board is the speaker. Rip it off or unsolder it.

Yessir. 30 min job tops. I also covered up my TPMS light so it would stop blinking at me. You could unsolder that LED too if you want.

I did this a year or so ago and the process can be finicky, but it does work.

A couple tips: get in and keep drivers door closed, keep your foot off the brake pedal and don't put your seatbelt on just yet.

    1) Insert key and turn ignition to 'ACC', but do not start the engine
    2) Cycle your trip odometer to show trucks true mileage (not trip mileage) then turn the ignition back off (don't open a door or anything)
    3) After a few seconds, turn ignition back to 'ACC' and as soon as the gauge cluster lights up, press and hold the trip odometer knob, holding it down for a healthy 12 seconds.
    4) After 12 long seconds, still holding the trip odometer knob, fasten in your drivers side seat belt.
    5) The odometer will switch from the mileage reading to show "b-on". Release the trip odometer knob fully, then press it once more and the odometer will show "b-off".

You should be good to go, turn truck off, start it, whatever. The seatbelt light still flashes but no beep. Some say disconnecting the battery undoes this setting, but that hasn't been my experience.

I have followed these instructions exactly on my 2015 Tacoma with no luck. Is it possible that the ability to alter this setting is not available for my year or for Canadian models?

Do you guys not wear seatbelts on the road? Or what is the purpose of this?

The setting reverts to beeping when I disconnect the battery on my '08.

Another way for the government to elicit funds from public with these laws. I wear it all the time on the road but it's off when I'm moving my trailer around the lot or down a ramp. Ridiculous to have to hear the damned beeping so often.

Pretty sure it’s illegal to disable the standard safety alarms or dash lamps. I know it’s a huge fine to disable or even cover the dash lamp for TPMS sensor

There are very specific situations on certain kinds of rough rocky roads where I remove my seatbelt because it can become a hazard.

Unplug it under the seat. It’s a 2 wire normally closed circuit. Plugging in the seatbelt opens the circuit. If the weight sensor triggers with the circuit closed it triggers the light/alarm. Unplugging it under the seat breaks the circuit and makes it think the belt always plugged in.

Lol, seriously though a 30 pack in my passenger seat will trip that stupid alarm. Also my dog sitting there trios it. I end up pulling the seatbelt behind the seat and clicking it, but I wish I didn't have to

I did this on the drivers side, passenger side is set up differently. It makes the air bags turn off if you unplug it.
