I've been doing a ton of research and browsed many vendors, but I keep hitting a wall in the same place - there's hardly anything out there for sliders for a 2WD AC. I know the AC is the same length wheel well to wheel well as a DCSB, and there are plenty of options for AC sliders, but it seems to be only for 4x4 AC's. Brute Force Fab seems to be the only vendor (I think anyways, and maybe SOS?) that might make them. Can anyone point me in the right direction or recommend any? I mean...I don't know where others go with their 2wd's but I sure as heck need some

I've seen your posts in other threads and assuming you want full, no-drill, bolt-on? Opening up to weld-on would open your options considerably.

There is 0 difference between a “2wd sliders” and “4wd sliders”. You need to find one that are for your model. You just need AC length sliders.

Edit: I stand corrected. See post below.

There are some full-plate bolt-on options that won't bolt on directly due to a very small interference with varying crossmembers for 2wd to 4wd. At least it hasn't been verified by any of the big vendors. Even if it's a small amount of grinding or drilling, OP has been made aware of this. While that's not a big deal for most of us, it does pose a problem for some people and that's understandable.

    :fistbump:

I ran into the same problem when I had my 2WD prerunner and was looking for sliders, that's the only reason I can semi-verify. The best answer I got was: "You can try it, but you might have to grind a little". For someone that isn't handy, it's a bummer to buy something so expensive and have to immediately cut it up so it fits. I clearly have no problem with that.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
The only way would be a slider that doesn't tie into the trans crossmember that's the only hang up i have found.

Mobtown off-road will fit. I just asked the man himself, and he confirmed the slight variation in frame differences, but he adjusted the design around it.

I'm open to both options. If they were bolt on I could do the install myself, but not the weld on ones. I'm sure I'll have no problem finding a shop in my area that can do it for me though. At this point I'm just looking for all the options. And by options I don't mean the "cheapest". I'm a natural researcher so I like to explore things.
My main issue is that I live in a condo and don't have a garage, or know anyone with one either that I could work in. Add lack of any tools other than the basics, and I'm pretty limited if there's any grinding or extra drilling needed.

Why not get the avid slider steps? You don't need real sliders on a 2wd. I have mine on order.

You're right. I only need/want them to, in no particular order:
    1) Protect my paint job from lazy 'ol blue-hairs that don't return their shopping carts to the corral
    2) Drop the (nonexistent) kids off at school and then look cool when I go to the mall and pull too far forward in the parking spot and bump the curb because I'm a female and don't know how to park my truck properly
    3) I wonder if I get the cute dimply fill in thingies if I could hang my heels backwards off the sides...
    4) Street cred and to get my picture on the So-Cal truckspotting thread
    5) Steps to get my ass in the truck instead of the hop and jump thing I've been doing

Probably more but that's all I got for now. Oh and the couple of times I've been to Corral Canyon and Ocotillo Wells (Espinosa & Lost Lizard trails, respectively) have definitely warranted having sliders so I don't eat shit over rock gardens.

Edited to add that I've only been to South and east areas so far. I've yet to try this Cleghorn I've heard of, and many others near Big Bear. I think most people underestimate their 2wd's. Mine is 100% stock right now but I can keep up with most (within reason, I know my limits) with no issue. I didn't mean to be a sarcastic ass, I get that maybe it's just not what some want to do.

Agreed. I am getting my avid slider style steps for most of the same reasons. Just curious why you wouldn't consider them. They fill all those check boxes at half the cost.

Are you getting the bolt on ones or the weld on ones? My main concern with the bolt on ones is that they bolt to the cab, and not the frame. That seems like a major lack of support to me. I'd be worried about the amount of stress being placed on the mounts.
