Just wanted to update this. I ordered the Icon sway bar relocate kit and installed it. I “feel” safer with the sway bar on now.

As others mentioned with or without a sway bar is a personal choice

I'd love to hear what you think of it when you get it installed. I'm reluctant to remove it driving quickly in highway deer country

I already put the sway bar back on with the Icon spacers from Wheelers. I feel much safer with it on. It was too much lean for my likings without it.

Has anyone done height adjustments to their 6112? Mine are at the top setting and I’ve noticed it to be a very harsh ride. Any suggestions to help with this? Perhaps adding some weight up front? Thanks

Can you describe harsh? My truck rides so much better compared to stock. I set mine on the 5th perch.

I did read from someone who owned both a Tacoma and a 4Runner running Bilstein 6112 on both of them. He swapped out the Bilstein on the 4Runner for Kings and he said it was night and day. So much smoother.

Yeah it just seems even going over speed bumps or unpaved roads it seems to bounce around a ton. Just was seeing if dropping to a lower setting might make a smoother ride

If you max out the preload they can get harsh. Drop them a notch and try it out. Easy enough to do.

I have mine set at 6/5 and had them at 5/4 before and don’t notice a difference

Just ordered some 6112/5160 and waiting for it to be delivered. I'm going to have it installed with 650 LB springs on the 6/5 setting to have approximately a 2" inch in the front. Is having a AAL or a new leaf pack necessary? I'm trying to have the truck leveled or have the front a bit higher.

Your fronts going to be very high with 650# and no AAL or rear leaf setup.

650 lb springs at a 6/5 settings would probably net me 2.5" inch with no weight, so I'll get after market UCA. Would having no Leaf pack or AAL be okay for this setup on a 3rd Gen?

I plan to get a aluminum bumper with a winch a year from my lift.

No rear setup is fine. But if I were you, I would start a little lower on spring perch, then go up a few rings as needed with the weight. With no weight, its going to ride like crap IMO.
So, I'd start at like 4/3 or something. Its not hard to adjust if your mechanically able.

To give context, I ran them with the stock springs they come with, 600# at 6/5 until I put on a SSO bumper. It was very rough until I added the weight.

I appreciate the input. I'll probbly have my local shop install it at a 4/3 setting with the 650 lb spring, which would net me approximately a 2" lift and then have the shop adjust it once I get my bumper and winch. :)

Have em set that, drop the truck bounce it a few times. See where it settles, if need be move to 5/4 if your not happy. With jack stands, floor jack and a few tools. I cna move mine around within a hour in my garage. But I have the tools and have been wrenching for a while. If you dont have space available to work on your truck, maybe a friends house? Its really easy to install them outright once assembled. Can order them assembled ready to go from headstrong.

I have the 6/5 and aal on the rear, sits perfect. I would imagine with out the aal the front would be at least 1.5 higher

The one who dies with the most stuff wins.
I have 6112s with the 650# springs set at the 5/4 setting. I have a steel skid trio, sliders, SSO bumper and a 10K synthetic winch. Even with all this weight I got 1.5" of lift. I'd imagine without the weight and even still being at the 5/4 setting I'd get higher than 2" of lift. I agree with others and I would start at 4/3 with the 650# springs if you don't have any added weight. I think the ride would be too harsh and your lift too high.

Anyone running the 650lb spring on stock weight? Is there a ride difference or is it minimal?
    Thanks.

The first question that you have to ask yourself is:
Why would I want to put 650lb springs on a stock set up?
Is it because you want to order them with the 650lb springs anticipating that you will add more weight in the future?

I bought them off a guy that gave me both 600 and 650 and they have the 650 springs assembled already. I don’t anticipate adding weight but things change lol
