Next year, barring any mass exodus of players, Alabama's defense will be pretty stout. Those young guys are drinking from a fire hydrant right now. I think they've done about as well as they could (granted they haven't really played a dynamic offense yet...)

Give em a spring and summer of bulk and development and they will be much better suited to stop dynamic offenses. Of course, the offense will have all new WR's except for one and new RBs and a new QB....so......

 

The front coming alive would be nice. When you can get that push with minimal guys it unloads the back end and pulls everything forward. Need to get those studs up front developed and to firing on all cylinders. Then the backers and DBs can come up as well. I'm here in Louisiana now but born and raised in Birmingham. It's been nice watching Devonta Smith come along I watched him play In high school at Amite about 25 min from me. It's been refreshing to see the receivers come to life and have more than just one big threat.

 

21 yards this week versus a nearly 200ypg average... if we didnt stall... what else would you call it?

Kirby knew the team to win the rushing battle usually won in that series... Mullen also didnt stick to the offensive game plan... that hurt too... and freaking Cager...

 

I call that a Kirby Smart Defense.


Is what it is. Kirby Smart can scheme defensively better than anyone in the SEC, and the nation with respect to Venables. (I think Kirby is better than Venables, but its really close.)

Depends on the loss. And that can’t be answered even after this weekend.

 

What if both losses were to a top 10 team and close games that came down to a single play?

 

A 2 loss team hasn’t made it yet. They also won’t this year. If Alabama loses to 2 top 10 teams, the only ones they play, they’re out no doubt.

 

Now your getting into the minutia that is the underbelly.

 

But... anything's possible. We have had a 2 loss national champion.

Of course... everybody was losing that year.

 

What if ND wins out and is granted 2 mulligans, then placed as the #1 seed?
