do you have a good setup for blasting? it just peels right off fairly easily
have a few tough little spots still trying to figure what to do with

 

My little ol craftsman can’t keep up. The air compressor at work could, but good luck using it around there

 

i have a fairly decent electric compressor from HF, other than the amount of moisture it spews out sometimes when its humid, it holds up well so far for the little blast gun that could

 

Is your grams scalesds a needle gun may make it a little quicker to clean up by getting the flaking stuff off

Anyone here with the 5 speed get a popping feel in clutch pedal? Mine did it a few years ago, went away on its own and now it's back with a vengeance. Creaks and has this metallic 'POP' when it comes back up. Still works fine but is kind of unsettling...don't want to lose the ability to work the clutch suddenly while driving.

Is it an issue with the spring, or needing some grease? I seem to remember a few years ago I sprayed some PTFE dry lube on it and that might have helped. Gonna try that again tomorrow.

 

Probably the spring clutch issue, there is a mod for that part, or the brass bushing I think is there too

I've never changed it out so its gotta still be the oem setup

 

I’m getting axle wrap again. My Alcan springs should be fine. I’m wondering if I need to adjust my rear drums? I pulled the plug to check the pads and they look the same as a yearish ago when I checked them last(about a 1/4”). Is adjusting them easy?

 

I don't see the correlation of axle wrap with drum brakes...

 

Haven't had axle wrap on my 04 but back when I had my 99 Prerunner I remember greasing the driveline zerks helped lessen it considerably.

 

Tried that and didn’t help much.

 

Weird you're experiencing it with the Alcans, usually a quality leaf spring pack isn't as susceptible to the binding that leads to axle wrap as the stock leafs are.

What's also interesting is that I've never once had it on my 04, but my 99 had it bad.
