Truck Camping Photo Thread

I’ve been using an REI Half Dome for several years now, which has been great. Suits both backpacking and truck style camping perfectly for me.

May have to keep these Gazelle tents on my radar. I see anything truck based as glamping. Having some extra vertical space could be nice.

 

Exactly. The gazelles are by no means compact when they’re put away, so this is for off-roading trips or truck camping stuff. Having the extra space and one person setup in 90 seconds is so nice. Well worth having it as an extra tent, especially if you buy it on sale.

When I’m backpacking I’m still using a Marmot 3 person and a backpackable Exped mat

 

I’ve been looking at picking up a bigger, truck camping style tent. With a wife and groms in tow now, the gear that’s be sufficient for just me isn’t cutting it anymore.

I still like the idea of the RTT in the long run. But it’s not in the cards or finances right now.

One of the last REI garage sales I went to they had a Yakima 2 person RTT that seemed to have little use. Reviews on that one weren’t great and I couldn’t bring myself to bite the price bullet, even at $475

 

$475 is not a bad price! REI garage sale stuff is usually in awesome shape too.

From a while back. Went to Yellowstone for the fourth with a friend.
We stopped and made breakfast here.
