Rough country lift anyone?

i was looking at their 3inch lift kit and it comes with rear shocks. looks pretty decent anyone have this lift? if so what do you think.

just like the toytec minus the add a leaf, front spacer and rear block, and comes with rear shocks idk? didnt look to bad. i know they make some good shit

 

spacers arent good shit. Go with a better kit, non-spacers

 

get the toytec kit coil over springs and aal rear 299

 

i have the 5100s @ 2.5 and love them...

 

who makes that? sorry im need to the truck scene just bought mine like a month ago.

great people to deal with. tell them you're a forum member and you'll get them a little cheaper.

then do an add-a-leaf (like $80) in the rear and you'll be set.

 

you just use oem front springs? and what add a leaf toytec?

 

Sad thing is, many of us seem to be obsessed with the Bili setup. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it does seem to get a little boring around here.

But not only that, problem when you lift is: there's always one more thing you can do to make sure everything is perfect. For instance:

• You lift your front 3"
• You get 1.5-2" AALs to balance out your lift front/back
• You add the front diff drop to protect your CVs
• You drop your drive shaft to reduce vibration
• You drop your sway bar so as not to be too tight
• You get rear axle shims to properly align the drive shaft and rear diff
• You get new UCAs to obtain proper alignment
• You get 33" tires to feel the wheel wells & to LOOK COOL
• You buy new rims or spacers so your new tires don't rub on your new UCAs

The bold ones are all components included in ToyTec's Ultimate lift. Unfortunately, that'll run you about $1100. This whole lifting business can get complicated. And I'm the guy that bought the cheaper RoughCountry lift for my '94 Ford Ranger and cheap Rusty's lift for my '02 Jeep Liberty. So, I know what it's like to be on a budget. But there's ALWAYS one more thing you could do to make it JUST RIGHT.

Not trying to dissuade you, just trying to show you exactly what you'll encounter through this whole process.

 

yes. the aal from toytec will add 2" of lift which will correct the factory rake.

also, i only have the front 5100 shocks, not the rears. rears aren't critical although they offer a slightly better ride.

 

I have the rough country lift and am very pleased with it. The install is not hard at all and the ride is still pretty good.

 

Oh yeah, I forgot one more. Extended brake lines. Honestly, I'm not sure which lines most people replace, but I know it's a common concern.

 

Sorry to thread jack but how important is it to get the extended break lines with a 3" lift. I mean if u don't plan on doing any major offroading are the necessary?

 

How many miles you got on the lift? Yours come with the rough.country rear shocks too? Have you come across any problems/noises/vibrations?

 

I have the rough country, Its an okay lift. It does a good job, but it doesn't lift as good as these other lifts. I am planning on getting rid of mine and putting these

 

Just put the Rough Country lift on about a month ago and no problems, gotta do what you like and what. A spacer lift is what it is and is not made for crazy off roading but will do the job if you dont want to spend a lot af cash. Im going icons when i get the cash so it will do for now.

 

I've got this lift and I love it. I don't off road much. I go to the ranch every once and a while and I needed a lift for clearance. This lift pretty much keeps your original suspension so its a nice comfortable ride. Other lifts are very stiff and you can feel every little bump you ride over.

 

you dont need extended brake lines with a 3" lift
