I often dabble in the used bike market and I think your asking price may be a touch high, I would say $3000. The problem you are going to have is most folks headed into Winter, nobody is buying bikes right now from what I have seen

Truth. You can go to Pinkbike marketplace and do a search for your model and see what the average pricing looks like. Bikes move pretty quick there, too. Assuming they are priced right; lots of MTB eyes on that site

Just putting it out there... I have a pair of 5.10 impact pros I’m selling for $90. Best damn MTB show for flats. Used them around the block to try on, didn’t fit. 9.5

Chatted with Cane Creek at AMBC Fall Fest this weekend. Word on the dirt is that they will be dropping a progressive spring for their coils sometime in the near future. The consistency and reliability of a coil paired with the progressiveness of an air shock pretty much makes this a no-brainier. I was on the fence about putting one on my Smuggler, as linear as it is, but I think I might have to pull the trigger when these springs are released.

I wear basketball shorts and quick dry tank tops. Works well for me and is cheap.

same thoughts I've had. I've got like 2 shirts I wear to bike and 1 pair of shorts...it's just ridiculous that shorts with some padding are that expensive.

I just dropped some money on a new winter kit from Handsup. Pants, cold weather gloves and Flannel stretch button up with coupon I spent $123. I had been searching for a pair of pants and best I could find was $100. Handsup sells shorts, jerseys and tank tops.

I buy a mix of online (backcountry, jenson, etc.), REI, and lbs. local shops should have sales going on I’d imagine.

as far as why I wear it, because I like the fit. I really don’t like wearing stuff that’s super baggy when riding. And it’s usually more durable so when I eat shit I just wipe the dirt off.

    Here you go

    https://handupgloves.com/collections/sale

Buy the simple lightweight hiking shorts from your favorite local outdoor store. Unless you ride hella mileage you don't always need chamois
Athletic shirts are cool and can be found cheap anywhere. Jerseys fit better, last forever, and often have small pockets for the essentials so you don't have a pack flying around. Buy one from your favorite LBS and it will last for years
All my shit is secondhand; make some friends in the community

My favorite socks and they are made in North Carolina: https://stokesignal.com/collections/all-products-online-store
Let me know if you go this direction and I can get you free shipping.

I've switched from really expensive shorts to these that I found in a facebook ad. I ordered one pair to test them out and discovered that they are the most comfortable and useful mtb shorts I've ever owned! No shit. Since then, I ordered two more colors. I also ordered three pairs of their shorter padded chamois and have no complaints about those either -- although, with those, I think I'll switch back to full length padded lycra with my next underwear order.

Seriously, though, try one pair and I think you'll be impressed. (For reference: I have a 33" waist and ordered the size XL shorts and size L chamoix).

I rode yesterday in a flannel hunting shirt, and my GF’s cold weather leggings. Figured it was time to drop some money on a winter kit.

Really wish I had known about these a couple weeks ago. I did everything I could to avoid some gaudy ass set up that wasn't outrageously expensive. I ended up finding a few TLD jerseys, sprint pants and a windbreaker that weren't to excessively f'd up looking and were on sale. Figured I'll pair them with some lightweight merino johns.

Haha yeah I mean it’s all about being comfortable for me. It’s worth paying for the cycling specific gear. A nice thermal bib goes a long way in my opinion.

good gloves too. Hopefully the handup winter gloves fit well.
Yeah it’ll be fine I’m sure haha

Did the same with my Cabels's Guidewear fishing shirts. Worked out great and dried out quick. Remember cotton kills when wet in winter o_O
