I picked mine up for $3500 from a friend of a friend; way lower than any I had been seeing online or at dealers. My only complaint is that it's automatic, but that's minor. My car is manual so I'm not missing out too much.

Many thanks for the info. My mechanic is great and has been taking care of my car for the last 11 years. I'll give him a call and mention to be sure to do the cam and crank seals in addition to the timing belt and water pump. I'm all for getting the important stuff done while the mechanic is in there.

Did front brakes yesterday, found a shop that cuts rotors. $5.00 each. Put on ceramic brake pads.

Generally speaking I just replace the rotors because when I've had rotors turned before they seemed to be more hassle and give me more problems than just replacing with new rotors. My thought is at 30-35 bucks a rotor might as well just throw a new one on. But I'd rather not do that if I can find a shop that or place that actually takes pride in turning em and does a good job. And for 5 bucks.... That's almost a no brainer man. Nice work:D

    85k miles.

When I first got the truck, the clutch pedal creaked/squeaked like a barn door opening every time I pressed it, it was awful. I sprayed it with dry lubricant and it would go away, then come back, go away, etc. Finally one time it went away and I haven't heard it for a couple years until last night.

Just drove to work though and it's gone again, so...we'll see.

It was an old school auto parts store, the owner took his time resurfacing the rotors, he allowed me to watch. Couple of old guys shooting the breeze while the lathe turned.

Mine squeaked for a few years. Tried to lube it, but nothing really worked. Then for a few years the squeak went away. At some point durring these years my cruise control stopped working. I didn't realize it was related at the time. Then the pedal got to where it wouldn't always come back up, just stayed on the floor. If I pulled it up a little it would pop the rest of the way up. Wasted money on a new master and slave cylinder. Then found the thread about the linear spring mod. Bought a brake pedal return spring. Used a screw driver to pop out the coil spring, and installed the brake pedal spring. Took all of three minutes. No squeak, pedal comes all the way up, and now my cruise control works.

Well, this is a bigger job than I had anticipated, but after the valve cover gaskets, cam and crank seals, the 02 sensor, the spark plugs and wires, the timing belt and the water pump, I'll have a truck that will last a loooong time...right? Please tell me I did okay buying this truck! I'll just have to make it work for me with lots of gardening jobs. Or I could sell it and break even (but then I'd be without a truck, and what's the fun in that?)
