TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

I’m running jba’s with stock cats welded to them.

 

Quite a few will be running NST crank and S/C pulleys once complete. Will not change or affect anything from stock with the exception of less rotational mass leading to quicker revs on the engine. Similar to a lightened flywheel but I don’t believe it will be near the same impact as one.

Smaller S/C nose drive impeller pulleys are what you see folks reducing in size. Put on a quick change hub and then you swap easily along the way. From the looks of your precious post, no matter what size you start with you will want to go smaller later on.

I have a lightweight flywheel on my 6 speed, and just bought the full compliment of NST pulleys for the engine. I'll let you know if I really feel a difference or not. Engine is a whole new animal these days with the new tune from @JustDSM and a new axle lol. The combination of tune+33s+4.10s made me love the truck all over again. 35s started making me want a new fast car, don't get me wrong, they look amazing, but the power loss was just enough to make me hate it.

Now I'm trying to convince myself why I don't need to buy a Roostfactor Y pipe and make URD equal length headers fit, along with more boost. Stop. No. Dont Stop.

a jfr pipe is on the top of my favorite mods. id buy yours if you dont like it.

 

Yeah I just spent way to much money on an axle swap and other shit as well as just got done paying off my credit card lol. My body says yes but my wallet says no.

 

It's easy. Remove SC belt and tensioner assembly, zap off 24mm crankshaft dampener retention bolt for the supercharger pulley, remove old pulley, install new one, reverse process for installation, all done!

 

Is it that easy for the full kit

 

It involves further removal of the accessory belt followed up by removing several other things, it just depends on your skill level but it's not difficult.

 

I didn’t see the price for the full kit....

 

I don't remember what it was, but it's redundant at this point because the GB is over for the full kit. The only one active as of now is the SC pulley.

I'm doing light pulleys all around on top of a light weight flywheel....

 

i had a set of their long tube header. the mounting flange set up they is on their headers do not seal very good at all. it is next to impossible to get the pipes to seal on the gasket. they just wind up sitting crooked and leak.
