1lb on low will last 4-5 hours, on high it lasts 2 hours.

Do you have a propane grill? Also its cheaper to have a 20lb refilled than exchanged.

Would you trust it to run while sleeping? That's one of my concerns.

 

Man, I produce so much heat in my garage I don't need a heater. I cut steel at 40,000 degrees. Lol.

Ran it all night on several occasions with the entire family in the tent. It has a sensor, if the oxygen level get below a certain point it will shut off. Ive allways just left a window cover open just a bit to let any bad stuff escape

 

Oh @Jerneyman it will also shut off if it gets knocked over lol.

 

Amy didn't like the smell from it when we had my hardshell RTT, but it didn't vent very well. I never ran it all night. I'd run it for 20 minutes to heat everything up, then cut it off to sleep, then kick it back on in the morning to heat up before getting out of the sleeping bag.

 

Can't put at a campfire in a tent. And I'm not bringing my dog, so no built in heater there.

I'll bring it to you tomorrow, you just gotta get the cheapo gas canisters at walmart or wherever.

 

In a rtt thats all you need to do to stay comfortable for most of the night. Possibly the same i a super high quality ground tent but usualy ground tents are much thinner. So running the heater all night on low is gunna be your go to if thats the case.

 

your original post didn't say you'd be in a tent, so campfire was a viable answer.

 

Now theres a try before you buy option.

This probably requires an extra battery or a good deep cycle on your truck tho wouldnt it?

I will also be mounting a 5lb propane tank on my swingout and getting a hose to run to a heater and stove. Just an idea for your propane storage.
