Not cheap, but could have been a lot worse.

You did good OP, a couple those fuses are a PITA labor intensive to replace. Best of all you’re back on the road again and that’s WiN!

    Cheers!

The batteries in the Taco suck. The first one conked out on me within a year of purchase of the truck. The second is causing corrosion all over the battery tray. Before long, I'm just going to bit the bullet and put a decent battery in it.

Panasonic battery is what my Toyota mechanic recommends. Dealers have them too.

Yikes! Like everyone said, could be worse. Just be glad it was only $600 and not thousands in electronic replacements, expensive lesson learned, but you wont EVER do that again! I never would have thought twice about it but after seeing this thread, I too will be more careful when replacing my battery.

When I had my tC, it had a Panasonic battery. Forgot I left the lights on when I left for training. Came back and found vehicle dead, charged it up while working. Battery was good until I traded her in 4 year later. Panasonic gtg, at least in my experience.

had the Panasonic in my wifes Lexus and it died at exactly 49 months, 1 month after the factory warranty was up. I took my warranty replacement 24F out of my Tacoma, which was about a month old at the time, and put it in her Lexus (luckily it was the same size) and I bought me a 27F AGM for the Taco.

One important note to make here is there are different types of diodes and .7 bias voltage is in reference to silicon p-n junction semiconductor diode, there are all kinds of cool and interesting applications for diodes like transistors, ac/dc converters, etc.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
Nearly cheaper than that tool who paid $600 for front brake pads and turned rotors in LA.

Glad they got you fixed up.
