    just remember to frequently check for barrel obstructions, or use one of those chair leg stoppers for a muzzle cover

    Modded it so much it turned into a 4Runner
    My son is in JROTC at his high school and they just got a new JROTC Commander. They had a retired Naval Officer for the last 2 years and the new guy is a retired Master Guns from the USMC. Needless to say, there are some broken hearts and hurt feelings amongst the JROTC student ranks right now. My son told me the first thing the guy did was smoke them all for the entire period the other day because the class room was not up to standards and now there are some parents that are upset and complaining.

    I partially agree. If they failed to meet an established expectation, there are consequences.

    However, there’s a difference between trainees and children. They may be ROTC cadets, but they are still kids. There are also legalities as to what you can make kids do. We had to “disinvite” an adult volunteer with the Civil Air Patrol because he thought he could talk to the kids like he did to his Airmen. There are lines you can cross with adults that you legally can’t with kids.

    The point is to teach leadership, discipline, and operational skills. As long as the lesson wasn’t excessive, extreme, or harmful, he is teaching them that the military isn’t all sunshine and rainbows and there are consequences for failing to meet expectations.

    *JROTC, ROTC are college level and actually follow a set military regulations with the potential to contract and commission, run by an active duty senior officer and senior NCO. JROTC are cute HS kids that have a retired officer and NCO in charge of the program.
