I'd have to check the kind I have in the shop. It's nothing fancy though. The black foot-long thick sticks (giggity) seemed to do the trick. I am in central Alabama and with the truck parked in the sun essentially all day, every day, the panel is still in there good and strong. We are already up into the triple digits daily so I can't picture the glue failing on most climates if it hasn't failed in mine!

So I just installed this today and I found it pretty easy to cut the OEM switch panel while it was in place. That made it so I didn't need to remove the whole center console. I just reached around the back after removing the ignition panel and unclipped the switches. Once I moved them out of the way, it was easy to cut the panel and install the new hotness.

@destin_meeks Any idea if the center console can be removed as described without removing all the other dash pieces prior? I forgot to plug in my wireless charging pad during reassembly... FML

On an aside can anyone confirm if the white lettering on the rear window switch is supposed to illuminate with the headlights on? After reassembly the switch functions and the indicator led is lit but the words don't light up like other switches. I don't use this switch much so am not sure if this is normal behavior. It does mirror what I'm seeing on the AC power button in the left pod so maybe it's working normally?

Unfortunately, the whole dash probably has to come apart to get to that connector :sorry:

EDIT* I might try just pulling up the console section (cup holders back to the center console) and see if you can reach up under the wireless charging pad? Haven't tried that so no clue

As for the rear window switch, it does not light up. Only the little indicator lights up. The lettering on the inverter switch doesn't light up either, but the lettering on the cargo lamp switch does

50 hours a week its parked on the back-side of Best Buy, right next to my shop! And as of 2 months ago, the rest of the time its at the house with the new baby girl. But I'm around every now and then! Either at B-phils having some beer specials, or Chucks getting some tasty bread pudding for the wife

Thanks for the clarification on the switch lighting!
I'll let the thread know if you can remove only the console in case anyone else is a bonehead like me on plugging in the pad.

Mercifully, you can get at the charging pad wiring harness easily buy only removing the shift knob and shift trim panel.
    Win!

With the Ac controls out, can you access the back of the switches on the lower panel? I have 3 empty slots that just have a filler in there, wondering if I can just pop them out from the back right there

Yes, I believe you can reach down there pretty easy. You can also get a thin panel tool (like a skin wedge) or even just a butter knife and pop the blanks out from the front. They’re not in there very tight

You were 100 percent right. Just slid a panel tool in there and they popped right out. This will make the heated seat install 100 times easier. Thank you! You’re one of the most helpful members on here

I guess it’s a bit of a moot point though. You’ll have to pull the A/C controls out to get your wiring in there

That doesn't seem like too much of a pain though, now that I don't have to take the lower panel off
