Best advice I can throw in is never spend any money on gold unless it's gold money.

A simple six dollar pan can make you a mint. That mint should be used only for the next step. Claim? Trommel? Big detectors? The world is your clam just root around in it till you feel good.

Oh wait the world is your oyster? I think?!

You guys wanna do a trip the 15-17? Tacos, beer and stumbling around the woods looking for shiny stuff. Gives a little time to collect some gear.

Oh well, some cash! Not willing to post the price publicly. It was well spent though.

Always know market price too. That way when you weigh out the gold your disappointed in how little money you have found.

Just found this thread. I have time to kill depending on the direction of travel. What kind of equipment is needed? I’ve been googling around and YouTubing people looking for gold for a while so wouldn’t mind trying it.

Dogs allowed? My dog want to go look for those elusive squirrels too

I'd do Fri-Sun. As far as direction I have no clue haha, I don't know what I'm doing.

Not quite sure yet. I'm planning to head out somewhere but haven't decided yet. I'll start putting something together over the weekend hopefully!

nice. I’m down. I’ll google around and see if there is any people want to share their spots. I was thinking of doing some backpacking in the sierras next weekend but I can change my plans easily.

I do it with one hand. Five shakes forward and back and three swirls to wash off the top leavherite.

Once you shake her up a bit don't worry about tossing out the gold. It's 19 times heavier than water, it will sink. You can get jiggy wit it. Don't be scared.

Oh and watch Freddy Dodge. He's a real person and really makes a living with gold. Just YouTube him.
I don't listen to this guy though

Got out above Pinecrest this past weekend and did some hiking around. Didn't find anything the first day but came across some color the second. Definitely could have used some gloves, the creeks were already frozen over. Hands got numb with a quickness!!

I was thinking of heading out that way this weekend for a bit of camping/backpacking/ amateur prospecting. Sounds like I should bring some nice warm gloves and some big rubber gloves to put over the first pair

Yeah it was a bit chilly, but not a cloud in the sky all weekend and in the low 70s during the day. I might head back up there this weekend, maybe I'll bump into you.
