Patience is a virtue they say, too bad it's not generally included in the instructions. It's soo hard not to touch it. :anonymous:

Maybe Spanish Cedar? Hard to tell if that is nail marks or bug bore holes.
Spanish Cedar smells funny when it goes thru a planer. You can make a dent in it w/ your fingernail but it is considered hardwood. Rough on blades due to it growing in a sandy area = high silicon content of the soil. Big money if you buy it from a hardwood distributor. Sometimes you find it in pallet material if it came from South America. I've used it for making storm shutters. Bugs do not eat it. That's my guess.

I’m going to go with 1915 sex bunker door, it would make sense as steel wasn’t widely use in the sex bunker industry until post WWII.

I have a question for you pros in here, or anyone else that knows about the different species of wood.

I sell fasteners for a living, and one of my customers builds modular homes exclusively out of Yellow Pine. They tell me that it is super hars stuff, harder than oak. Is this true, or are they pulling my leg?
