News from the body shop was that the cab is unrepairable, because the steel would rip or buckle. The frame can be straightened but would need to be reinforced. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Start looking for a donor truck to get the cab off of, straighten and reinforce the frame.

    I dunno?

Quite a bit of that can be pounded out from the inside with a sledge and a chunk of 2 x 4.

If it was me I'd remove the rear interior plastic and start swatting. It's actually quite malleable.

This work is just labor and really cost you nothing but time.

That would be a task being in Michigan because everything is rusted to shit. This is a hunting truck, I'm not asking for perfection. But there is a rip in the steel though so I'm not sure what I'd do for that will post another picture of the cab when I get home.

If I were to look into finding a cab which years are the same as the 95? Is it 95-97?

Oh okay. I didn't know if finding a truck on copart and using them would be a good idea.

Kirk how does the cab look? Worse than you thought? Or do you still think it could be hammered out

It's up to you. It's gonna take some sweat.

I can't remember, was this a southern truck? If it's fairly rust free, the elbow grease might make it worth it. If it's been hear for it's life, it won't be fun and most likely not worth it.

I just got done patching the frame on my wife's Tacoma. It sucked and honestly it's only gonna get me 3-5 years before we have to say goodbye.

Yes this truck came from arizona very minor surface rust on the hood. Other than that spotless. I wouldn't even know where to begin on getting that to look decent though.

Only thing I can suggest is to start beating on it. You'll know pretty quick if you can save it.

If you can get that cab back close to it's normal shape, I'd take the box off. That would give the frame guy better access. The boxes come off real easy.

And I don't quite understand how the 2x4 works, obviously so its a flat surface and the hammer won't blow through but like a small piece maybe a foot long or what?

Yep, you want to pound from the inside out, but you don't want puncture the metal. Hit the 24" 2 x 4 with the big hammer and drive the blunt end of the 2 x4 against the metal. You may have to experiment. A 2 x 2 might work better.

Once you get the interior out and the speaker out you will be able to see the back side of the Carnage.

As for the tear, work on getting the cab back to shape. Patching the metal is the easy part. Put that on the back burner for now.

I could get you an Arizona Cab. Getting it would be a logistical pain in the ass.

Yes sir it would, I appreciate the offer though. Ive determined it will probably be a better idea to part out this truck and say my goodbyes.
