Help with texts not being read

Well as the title says, my texts which used to come through no longer do. 2019 Sport with tech package. Tried re pairing several times, re booted phone (iPhone 8, all up to date) show notifications is switched on and nothing. Switched airplane mode off and on and still nada.
We’re heading out on a trip early Saturday morning and would love to have this rectified. I called the dealer and they said that all they could do would be to schedule an appointment next week so absolutely no help there.
Hands free calling still works like normal.
Any ideas from the brain trust?

 

I can’t figure it out on my 2015 entune either. It comes and goes lol

wish I bought the biggest piece of crap radio and immediately purchased an aftermarket.

 

Do you remote start your truck? If I don’t have my phone in the truck when I start it, texts won’t pop up.

@op, you said you tried "re-pairing," but did you actually delete the configs from both the phone and the radio first? It's an important step...

 

Bit of a long shot, but pull the battery cable for 30 sec and reset the radio.

 

Yes, reset both. No mute on, no remote start.
Deleted phone from the truck settings, deleted truck from the phone settings, shut phone off, repaired both and still nothing.

 

Afaik the head unit has a limitation on the amount of data it can handle. I keep most of my text messages, never delete from my phone.
I find if I do clear it, then the texts and emails start coming through again. I just then it off though cause I don't need the radio interrupted every 30 seconds.

 

You might be onto something there, head unit says that it can’t move messages over, could be the problem.

 

My texts were working fine until my last iphone update. Now its kinda hit and miss with receiving texts on screen.

 

That's just been my experience with it. I have not fully tested the theory as I don't give a rats ass about it.

 

I do not have the show email alerts box checked.

 

When you connect your phone, you can connect it as phone and audio, or just one. And when you reconnect a phone, you can also toggle what's what.

I keep the screen off and hate having the text notification pop up if my lady friend is DJing.

 

I haven't deleted a single text message from my phone, but they all still go through.
Maybe because I have an android.
My pops has an iphone and they don't show up for him.

Also a bit of a long shot, mine will only read texts that dont have graphics in them. If someone adds an emoji that isnt the keyboard based smiley parenthesis, it wont read.
