Yeah, I've considered that option. I ran the 5100s on my 2nd gen with no problems at all. I do need skids too though...

 

I can see if jon hammack the guy who made my sliders and is gonna make my rear bumper can hook you up with skids for a great deal?

 

Hell yeah, I don't why I didn't think of that! See what he'll make a skid trio for me for. I can always bring him my truck, if he needs it. Are the skids interchangeable between 2nd and 3rd gen? I have the exhaust reroute too, so a flat transfer case skid would be perfect.

 

I think they are but dont quote me. The frames are the exact same so they should be.

 

Hes got a 3rd gen anyways so he could probably do it off his truck lol

 

Actually, the frame on the 3rd gens are 1/4"-3/8" wider on the 3rd gen, at least on mine they are. I found this out when Wes made me those sliders on his 2nd gen jig, but wouldn't fit my 3rd gen. Almost, but not quite.

 

Touch bases with him and see what he says. This is a serious inquiry! I'll spend my money on skids before a suspension lift!

It’s been a great setup for me as well.
In fact I didn’t feel a big difference in ride quality, given that it was Progressive, and so was my Fox setup from factory.
One of the best mods I have done.

 

Well, if we can ever cross paths, I may just pick those up from him, hit it with some rattle can and call it a day. Then it would be another excuse to pick up a u-bolt flip kit as well!

Nothing right now, it hasn't been run in a long time, not since paw paw has passed away. It's still sitting outside of maw maw and paw paw's old house, covered in tree sap and bird shit! lol

You ever seen the work that IronPig does for skids? They make some killer shit, had one on an FJ80. Was probably the most knarly armor I have had.

 

It’s one of the old square body ones right? I mean, if it ever just desperately needs a re-home, I’m a sucker for that gen. Hahaha.
