possible.I am going on a week long "no destination" trip 3rd week i may.

 

I dont know what I am doing next week.. I am not good at planning anything.

I know some people dont like city riding, but I definitely want to try to get to NY at some point next year. @uurx

 

we are heading south.Will still be a little chilly at that time.

 

NY has some really nice roads for motorcycles

 

PA, SE OH and WV & W VA have great roads, E KY is good. And of course E TN and W NC are great.

West of the Mississippi, but still not crazy far away is South Central MO and SW AR, love that area to ride in. Zero traffic.

I'm not certain I'd own a motorcycle in IL, IN or MS.

I'm about 20 miles south of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course right now. I can be on some good roads in 15 minutes and epic roads in 1.5 hours.

 

I was just at that track in July for the Indy Lights races. What a blast!
Like you, I took mostly rural and state routes (instead of highway/turnpike) through Ohio, because they are both scenic and fun... and also because I was in my Mustang and it likes the twisties.

 

A girl I date has a last year 5.0 LX (maybe 94?) all stock, but it is an auto.

I have a Toyota 86, an NC Miata & a BMW Z3 Coupe, I like small lightweight, low horsepower stuff.
I have never been there for a auto event, but I typically go for Motorcycle Vintage Days.

The Pittsburg to Mid-Ohio roads are not the best ones. The best Ohio roads are east of US highway 23 and south of Interstate 70. Next time you come for a weekend I can give you a list of fun roads.

with moving and all this past month its been like 3 weeks since I rode this thing... shame I missed out on the best 3 weeks of the NY season, end of summer start of fall.
regardless, got her nice and warm today and very much looking forward to having my garage now for the winter time tinkering.

Suzuki made one four stroke back in Japan in late 50s early 60s that was a flop. In the US all of their bikes were two strokes until 1977. (Technically Wankles are four strokes so their RE5 Rotary from 74-76 was their first 4 stroke, but it was also a flop)

The GS750 was designed to compete with the Honda CB750 and KZ900, it had some advantages to both but was late to the party. Most of the world received the GS750 in 1976, but we (US) did not get it until 1977. There were two colors, blue and red, both of them had the black side covers. So this was really Suzuki's first four stroke.

I have had this one for about 8 years. It is all original except for the handlebars and grips. (I have a set of OE grips to go back on it, but the original bars are a horrible bend and I refuse to put them back on)
It has always been this way, it has not been restored and is a rider with lots of little flaws, but it is correct. Pretty nice shape for a 42 year old motorcycle with 25K miles.

The coolest part of the bike is the VIN, it ends with 000069, so it is one of the first 100 made for the US. This would be a pretty big deal and worth some money if I were a Honda CB or Kawasaki KZ, but the Suzukis have not caught collectable status yet.

 

Tail Tidy and New turn signal time now that it's winter. Just did mine last weekend.

 

I'm going on probably the last ride of the season on sunday. Dirt bike wise. I don't handle the cold all that well. I have been really enjoying the new wr450. Its definitely got alot of power.

 

Yeah Sunday looks decent, I’m planning to get out for a ride too.

 

Mine is getting put away sunday and making my winter upgrade list for the spring. Gold valves are on the top so far

 

Why not titanium?

 

Same here, both Saturday and Sunday look good enough to me. I got some of those small and flexible orange cones that I'm going to set up in my local parking lot. Need to practice my counter steering, swerving and braking.
Want to hone my skills as much as possible before next spring.

That is next on this list for both my F4i and Dyna. Made a world of difference on the FZ07 and its so easy to do, takes half an afternoon. Installing a rear shock lift on the F4i tommorrow to fix the saggy ass stock suspension. Since they are both standard forks, will do both with gold valves in the spring to save time. I keep wanting to do a fork swap with a GSXR or the like but its so complicated and no machine shop so gold valves for now.

Worked on the Dyna today, new Derby Cover (luckily matches existing paint scheme) and rear shock sliders (need to snag front during black friday)- changed primary fluid, cleaned battery terminals, and retorqued bolts (switched to all ARP fasteners awhile ago, man they are amazing). The Headlight was almost all the way loose, nut vibrated itself out. Need to switch out the rear shock too, not only is it godawful chrome, but holy shit the stock shocks are baaaddd. I used to not care until I started to get into streetbikes again.

 

Nice! Setting up your suspension properly is one of the best mods you can do to your bike.

I got lucky with my SV - it came with a really nice Elka piggyback rear shock and stiffer fork springs. The first thing I did to my Bolt was change the rear shocks to a set of Progressives which increased the ride height by an inch and they're also adjustable preload/rebound. Cruiser or not I still love hustling it through the twisties scraping pegs and all lol.

It's fun to ride the bikes back to back and see the differences in handling. One of my favorite backroads I frequent has a small hill in between two corners - when I'm on the SV accelerating over it the front wheel lifts off the ground and on the Bolt the back tire breaks loose - always puts a smile on my face

 

for the front forks, im done of dealing with harsh ride on sharp bumps

 

I will be going to ride my bike home on sunday from my campground where i keep it in the summer.
