Has anyone had the opportunity to compare the OEM TRD Pro garnish with the faux TRD Pro garnish?

I purchased a TRD Pro grill and I wanted to know if the fake ones were bad or somewhat close to the originals.

 Except that it isn't OEM, it's just made to look OEM, it's a knockoff. They even mis-spelled "Radiator".

OP, there's a whole thread on here about the different garnishes and what fits and what doesn't. There's also a plethora of videos out there of people comparing the garnishes. I'm sure some kind soul will link some here. Just had to say my piece about the garnish above...

How do you spell radiator? I received it in two days and it was packaged exactly how OEM comes according to a thread on here. Not sure if it's linking you somewhere else?

OP forgive the under educated saying their piece in this thread. JP-genuine garnish worked without issue and as many other members have stated is OEM.

@TimC I dunno where that picture is from, but it's not from the ad the link above takes you to.

The screenshot below, taken from the ad, is NOT how you spell radiator :)

    upload_2019-11-6_17-40-19.jpg

I watched a video I think on these the other day, they were comparing them and made a big point how this manufacturer tried so hard to copy exactly the factory garnish down to the stickers on the box, but they mis-spelled Radiator on the one sticker.

Link takes me to seller jp-genuine exactly as intended. Knockoffs come in boxes, OEM comes wrapped in paper.

Okay buddy, but undereducated is one word, so put that in your pipe and smoke it. Sorry if I infringed upon your delicate sensibilities. Turns out that eBay listing had ended, and on desktop redirects to a different garnish, which does, in fact, have radiator mis-spelled as "radriator". SO sorry...

Also not necessarily related to this part, but in general, Toyota does make spelling mistakes on their labels on a somewhat regular basis. Very upsetting, occasionally humorous.

So I understand the dissatisfaction of a fake part sold as OEM, but in general, I consider the majority of these to be aftermarket, not pretending to be genuine which would be "fake" by definition.

Wondering if the people who call aftermarket parts fake take the same approach to aftermarket spark plugs brake pads etc.

I looked on youtube. Was able to find plenty of vids on the faux pro grill but nothing comparing oem vs faux garnish.

Got mine from China. Works fine. Took some chiseling to fit it in the faux grill also from China

We probably all got ours from China. Some people swear their OEM garnishes and grills were forged on Mount Olympus by Hephaestus himself.
