I absolutely luv Lagavulin. It’s not easy to find in my part of the world.

Highland Park is also a fav.

Yeah, the GF brought me back a bottle of Highland Park when she was in the UK in March, and I haven't been able to find any locally. So it was one of my duty-free purchases, along with the Macallan 12. I can buy that locally, but it was like $15 less at the airport so it was a no-brainer.

My local independent shop (So Cal) has a special, 2 Michters 750ml for $70. I picked up 2 of these this weekend but have yet to open. I wish they let me mix n match, I really wanted to try the rye as well.

I found a local shop that has 1 of the Toasted Barrels.... $200 :bananadead:

My brother and I cracked open a Toasted Barrel Finish bourbon a couple of weeks ago. Had a pour or two. Revisited it this past Friday.

    Later on that night:

    IMG_20191102_004044_01.jpg

I wouldn't let the speed with which we finished it fool you. I only found it to be 'okay'. Just over 91 proof, a very dry finish, and most of the velvety caramel, butterscotch, leather, or dark fruit notes that many bourbons have are all but muted by an oak taste. I absolutely want to try that Toasted Barrel Finish sour mash above and would like to try the rye version, but I won't seek the bourbon again.

It was a birthday present from the wife—we happen to be good friends with the buyer at our local liquor store and she convinced her to buy it (it was the first time they’ve ever gotten it). It was ~$70
    Glad she did, it’s awesome.

I saw that for sale this weekend at a local spot: $87 down from $99. I told him my bottle came from Costco last month for $60. He didn't believe me

Thank you! I'm very happy, it's been a long time coming. My boss was just as excited as I was to tell me the good news. I was really happy about that.

It's really good stuff. Used to be widely available around me and then disappeared about a year ago.
