That's the thing. It ended up being just a straight DC current. I can't remember what the voltage was.

A 3rd member swap and a couple wires talks to me more than the air locker plus a compressor, mounting, and wiring.

Regardless, it is going to be some time before I get in that deep.

For the ORs and Pros, I wonder if there isn't a similar way to either trick it, piggy back some for 4Hi / 2Hi, or just cut out the OE stuff and wire it in like a retrofit? It's a bit of a risk for someone to go there though.

not to derail this thread too much, but since its quiet anyway...

you can use the compressor to fill tires so if you already need one for that its a more reasonable proposition. I have mine mounted in an expedition essentials bed cubby and the wiring prepped for a locker. figure i'll get an arb for the rear if I regear eventually. Wiring is actually pretty simple once you lay it out.

There was some concern about running the locker at a continuous 12V because stock it locks with 12 and then cuts the voltage back but i don't think anyone ever tested if that was done for a durability/longevity reason in the thread. There is a sensor that detects if the rear is locked so that might need to be spoofed but other than that I assume a retrofit would be similar.

traction devices are the best, before the taco I had an old cherokee with a lunchbox locker front and a limited slip rear and it was awesome in the snow and mud. miss it sometimes, frame rusted completely through before i gave it up. I wish we could make better use of the simulated LSD, locker and atrac in this truck, LSD without traction control, locker in 2H and maybe even atrac in 4H seem like they could all be fun and/or useful.

Anyways, back to 2.0. I'm curious to see how 1.05 could be better. my only real complaint now is rev hang at high RPM and deep accelerator angle (like come on, just let me be bad once in a while).

I'm pretty happy with my scuba tank. That could run the locker also.

Either way is workable. By the time that I ready to jump in, any issues should be known.

I am excited to see what the full version of 2.0 is.

I am hoping he has a 91 FOB single torque map version for the catless dump tubes,or that "insane mode" he hinted at many, many, many moons ago...

For people who aren't a fan of the pricing of maxtrax or treds, check out x-bull traction boards. I've a set and they're excellent while not breaking the bank

    I mean, shit...

Mat said there would be no more Beta files, and I have to assume that meant M/T in the context of that particular post - and the fact that we are seeing yet ANOTHER round of slushbox Beta changes.

I GUESS that means our files are pretty much good to go then.. but it's hard to tell since there's been literally no word. Plenty of stuff on FI though, which I care nothing about TBH.

    I hope we're not waiting because A/T isn't done.

    What are you talking about?
There are no other new betas for testing for the AT. The only new file coming out is a version of 2.0 final for 04B04. We will release that first, check, then release final.

I follow this thread religiously and can’t help but notice you calling Mat out every other page crying about him tending to the ‘slushbox’ folks before us. It’s ironic to say the least seeing your comments to Mat and then right after making fun of the AT crowd for being needy. The AT market is at least triple the MT so obviously there’s a lot more to deal with, and yeah he’s been posting on FI a lot because a lot of people are interested and he’s racing against other vendors.

I’m perfectly happy with how OVtune has changed my truck. Anything else is just icing.

OVtune has really impressed me with how much of a difference they've made in my truck. I got 18.4 MPGs on my way to work this morning and I'm running 285/70r17 tires going up and down the hills of Northern WV. I couldn't be more pleased with FOB 93 tune, and if 2.0 can improve upon that then I'm willing to wait as long as it takes! Good shit Matt and OVtune!:drunk:

The thing is, M/T has been 2nd class since the very start of all this. No R&D truck, releases always seem to be last or delayed by slushbox garbage (with a few minor exceptions).

While I get that the A/T is the lion's share of the market, M/T deserves it's due. No R&D with Mat in the seat = not good enough IMO. There are still issues with our files.

I also get that the FI market is hot and he needs to be in there.. but, don't forget about us NA guys (M/T).

If you think that development of the M/T tune is all simple and doesn't require his focus to get right, you haven't been paying attention (nor would I expect that from an A/T guy).

When I see ppl complaining about 2mph shifts here and 200RPM shifts there, tip in is too much - wait nope it's too little. FFS, all I want is consistent throttle, smooth power and no stuttering nor rev hang.

SO yeah, I've learned from the dev thread (A/T whining daily) that to get Mat's attention and maybe get some input, you have to whine. I don't want to, believe me.

As I said before I have been working on MT stuff for quite a while.
Just be cause I haven't released anything doesn't mean nothing is being done.
I do not want to continually have a stream of endless betas.
So the focus now on both AT and MT is final 2.0.

Also the whole thing about MTs not getting enough beta as ATs, etc. It's just simply not accurate. Majority of betas for the AT is not about "features" or anything other than getting data for SHIFTING. Something the MT doesn't have a problem with.
Not to mention one of the biggest patches we are working on and have been is being tested solely by an MT truck..

When that is is still TBD.

Right now things are moving at a snails pace if you're looking at it from the outside. And with all this boost hype, we will be busier than ever going into 2020. But what we are working on will be appreciated long after it's release.
Full time closed loop fuel control patch ~ which is pretty much a MUST for safe boost tuning and for N/A
Completely rewriting the code for the MT that has individual torque / airload target tables for each gear ~ which is why you guys have this issue with the throttle feeling different depending on the gear you are in.

Currently, you cannot copy / paste / normalize all the tables due to how the logic works for torque calculation in each gear.
So we have to rewrite it so you can have the same throttle feel in every gear.

Hats off to @OVTune. It's a lot of work, love what you guys do. :hattip:

Eagerly, but patiently awaiting finalized 2.0. Maybe with a sticker or a patch to boot :D

I would love to see at EcoBoost sticker but instead of "Eco" in green/blue it says "OV" in orange and instead of the leaf road emblem its the OVTuned logo. Pardon my horrific photoshopping in Microsoft word haha.

Yeah probably should have posted the "OV Boost" version in the FI thread. I'm very much getting the TT kit when it comes out so I just had OV Boost on the mind.
