the TRD Pro Fox 2.0 kit uses 3" ID coils with 600lb rate? is this correct? and regular non-TRD 2.0 Foxes use a 2.5" ID coil? with a 600lb rate?

i am in conversation with Fox also trying to get a possible custom kit figured. all the details are getting on the table, but i don't have all the details yet.

The TRD PRO uses a 2.5" shock which will use a 3" ID spring.

    The 2.0 series c/o use a 2.5" ID spring.

great. do you know the spring rates on these? pretty sure the TRD Pro kits are 600lb. i'm looking at 2.5 & 3.0 kits for the truck but those don't appear to come with less than 650lb springs.

On the PRO? There's been much speculation but I don't have any confirmed information.

Spring rates from Fox, for aftermarket at least idk about their OE shocks, are 600lbs for that Tacoma.

Can confirm spring rates at 600lbs based on what down south motorsports had just mentioned to me @St.Germain

so it turns out that the TRD Pro Fox 2.0 kit are 2.5's with internal bypass according to Fox. so while i'm looking at upgrading to internal bypass 2.5's, i'm a fool because i'm already running them. o_O i didn't know these had the internal bypass. anyway, the suggestion from the Fox guy was to send them back for a rebuild, and they can custom revalve them for my needs. so it looks like the only PITA is sending them back off my DD. that's probably not as bad as a new set of $2000 shocks.

    thanks for y'alls help.

OR..you get the new shocks, and, send your current ones off for rebuild, then when ya need to rebuild the new ones, you have a set...such and such, and so forth....

I would contact the service department and confirm that information before you do anything.

Nice. I’d buy a cheap set as spares and send your Fox set to @AccuTune Offroad for a double stack re-tune.

I throw my stock Billy’s on when I send mine in. Usually get them back in a week.

are you recommending Accu Tune to rebuild/revalve instead of Fox? if so, why?

Much more personalized service and a better valve stack with a wider range of tuning options. A relationship with one’s suspension shop is invaluable. For me truck stuff goes to Accutune and bike stuff goes to SuperPlush.

@AccuTune Offroad question. If I run Fox 2.5s 600lbs springs with zero preload (slight preload on the drivers side for the taco lean) with my 4inch Maxtrac spindles will there be any additional lift? I’m trying to only retain 4inches I’d lift from the spindles.

Thats extremely specific. You're basically wanting 0" lift with the suspension, but 4" from the spindles. You will need to adjust preload to get you back down to a 4" lift... but there is no specific number for this since every vehicles weight is different. 0" preload does not equal 0" lift.

Ahh I forgot to mention I have no additional weight up front as of now. I have a 2nd gen and I swapped out my stocker or shocks for some 3rd gen or shocks and it lifted me up a little under an inch. I’m not sure what the spring rate is on those tho.

Anybody ever rebuild the 883-02-025 's?
Pretty much the 2.5 extended ifp coilovers.

Any part numbers for the rebuild?
    Oil, bearings, seals etc.

Going to rebuild them with some 14" 600# on there. They've been great so far.

Did you just install the suspension system, or is this noise only coming AFTER you adjusted preload?
Have you gone through every nut and bolt to make sure it torqued properly?
What is the measurement from lower shock eye to top hat?
