Hello I am new to this whole thing, I'm 16 and I just got my truck in August. I'm wondering how I can get into the whole Off-Roading Scene and being more involved in the community in the Houston area. I don't really have an off-road tacoma right now, but a tacoma is a tacoma right. It's a 2017 TRD off-road with a 2/3 level kit and 265/70R17 Toyo A/T's.

    Welcome to the forums!

Best advice I can give is read, read and read some more. There are plenty of informative threads on TW on just about anything, not specifically truck related.

The search bar is up in the top right, will be your best friend here. Chances are, if you have a question, someone else has had that question as well. None the less though, if you can't find answers to your questions just post a thread up!

Here is the link to the Texas Regional Thread as well as Houston BS thread. Reach out in there to see who all is around you, best way to learn to wheel, offroad, ride what ever you want to call it is to get out and do it!
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/forums/texas.46/
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...s-not-from-houston-bs-thread.309119/page-8050

Also, remember as you start to get into mods and such, I'm assuming you will, at the end of the day, it's YOUR truck. Do what YOU want with it. Others here can only assist with their experience/knowledge/reviews, it's up to you to decide how you want to use it to build your truck.

No problem man, PM me if you have any questions. Also another good link to check out. This is from the Colorado Region Thread, where I live, but none the less great information to keep in mind.

Thanks again @bot102 that link really helped I'm tempted to do a little bit more digging but I need to go to bed, I can feel myself getting addicted already. I have watched some trailing videos but that's really the extent of that except for doing donuts in the mud a few times. Also thanks for the little shout out

The stock 4x4 is plenty capable and you have tons of time to mod. Go drive it and when you find something that you can’t get past, figure out what needs to change to make that happen. We spent a couple of days in Death Valley in a stock SR5 with nothing but sliders and lived to tell the tale. Didn’t mess up the truck, I learned a lot about going slow, and my wife is learning how to spot.
There’s good people here, check out your local group and go meet some people and have some fun.
