Hey don't get me wrong, I'm not in the scrapping hobby. This represented a few years worth of DIY Home Auto Repair and some other assorted crap that I just needed off my property. I just happen to still have that flatbed from my in-laws and did the duty yesterday.

Route 28 is a nightmare, but the parkway is usually no better during morning/evening rush hour. I drive across the city every day, and wonder how much longer I can tolerate it. :annoyed:

I've always wondered why Pittsburgh (a relatively small city when compared to places like Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas) can have such an insane amount of traffic problems. I suppose it's all due to the infrastructure and topography, but holy bacon is it exasperating. :bananadead:

I think that is the problem, the infrastructure and the topography. And a lot of the infrastructure is old. I was at a meeting right around the Penn Brewery that let out at 415, so i knew it was gonna be bad. It took me 2 hours to get home, i thought there was a wreck. Nope! Three penndot trucks blocking off about 80 feet of the right line. And what were they doing you may ask? Two guys watching one guy weld a catch basin top....that was it. there was zero traffic after that point.

so the traffic combined with the fact that NOBODY can drive like a normal person on 28. constantly being passed by people like i'm standing still, weaving in and out of traffic and jammin on the brakes when they cant move. no wonder there are wrecks on there on a daily basis.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I saw a bear yesterday...or maybe it was Monday. It was napping along side of the road. What a weird place to take a nap.

I have one that raids my garbage for pizza.

So far he's only come when there's pizza in the garbage.. if he keeps it up I guess I'll have bear steaks.

You can witness the worst of humanity on the roads around Pittsburgh. People turn into absolute savages, but you can't blame the people (we're part of that group, of course)... you have to blame the environment. It's 10 times worse if you have a manual transmission. :pout:

Fark it. I'm buying a helicopter.

I have a 6-speed. Usually opt for the DD ford escape for city driving. It is a lame ass auto.

I take 79 into the city everytime. 28 should be 10-15 minutes shorter for me, but since they have been doing construction on it since i was 16, and the aforementioned reasons it ends up taking longer to commute it. 279 into the city isn't a bad way in once you learn how to get in

That's a good point, I do the same thing anytime I'm coming in from the north. I take the 279 split in Wexford and then the Veterans Bridge to get into the city. It's usually trouble-free... which is rare for the roads around here.
