Is there a way to get power using the 7th injector at altitude and be able to go into boost from low RPMs like 2000 Instead of 2500? The qwest for the freedom to lug on. It’s worth asking. But I think not. What do you guys think?

Um... 7th isn’t going to change your boost. The only way to get more boost at lower RPM is a smaller pulley. THEN you can start thinking about a 7th.

the whinebro was so loud I could hear it over everything when below half a tank. I had two. One wouldn’t stay primed and both were super loud. Switched to a Deatchwerks and no problems.

I hear ya. I’m thinking I need to get used to the truck. I’m asking about 2000 RPM “let’s floor it and go” instead of having to floor it at 2500. Basically a lazy approach to going fast. The ability to go into boost at low RPMs without pinging. It’s not possible on these trucks.

I think you need to learn how to use your right hand and downshift if you want to drive that way.

I bought a 170 degree T Stat from Auto Zone and got a 10 degree lower range with my stock radiator (194-204 to 184-194...same ambient temperature 90 degrees) AND 10 degree lower oil temp as well..of course.

Going the get the Champion CC1998 4Runner radiator as soon as it’s back in stock and I have some extra cash.

Going to try some different mounting techniques as John had some problems with leaks on the Champions. I still believe it’s the best option without going custom..$$$$$$$$

Hoping this will keep me below 185 degrees all the time, but I won’t be able to tell for sure until next July!

Hmm good to know, I've sometimes wondered if maybe its a matter of time before it craps out on me and I certainly don't want that. Might look into the Deathwerks one myself

All right. In an effort to lug this truck a little bit more. I’m trying out some octane boosters. The non metal oxide ones. I’m trying the Gumout. I emailed Shell. No MMT and the STP Jet fuel non MMT booster. Yes it’s only 91 to 92 give or take. But I wanna see. I will report back. It’s awesome to buy this stuff and the auto parts folks ask why. I say supercharger. They say “oh”. Anyway will report back.

Update 8 mile drive with gunout Octane booster. So I went to pick up my boy from work. the truck runs smoother. The boy can tell the difference. He says he hears it. I need to drive it more to see. I drive a lot. I got 6 bottles. After this tank, I’ll use two bottles to go up to 92.6 from 91. F yeah Wal-Mart. We’ll see if I can half throttle it at 14.8 AFR and what it sounds like.

do you have this Installed? https://www.urdusa.com/urd-afr-sensor-calibrator/

    d
o you know anyone that has it installed?
My little octane booster experiment is to improve 1 PSI driving at an AFR of 14.8 in light throttle closed loop. Now I can’t do that. I’d either floor it if I have the RPMs or downshift to avoid noises.

You absolutely need tuning. That AFR calibrator will help richen the mixture at part throttle boost but it won’t allow you to retard timing.

if I were you I’d bite the bullet and get the AEM FI/C and the boomslang harness if you don’t want to tap/cut your engine harness. It has way more features than the 7th injector but it’s more work especially if you want to run larger injectors for fueling.

There’s a thread on installing the FIC. Just make sure it has the resistors added so the timing signal is good.

How does this work or maybe it doesn’t if you have a methonal kit as you can add fuel at any boost number without the ECU part of that loop controlling the methonal, closed loop is the issue.
