Bought a new 2019 Tacoma OR 4x4 and not sure about rustproofing it. I live in northern Ohio. What do you say?

I just applied Mavcoat for the second year. It's more expensive that Fluid Film, but much cleaner to use and after the 1st winter on my 2018, I was very pleased. It takes about 4 cans to coat everything. I'm in Indiana so similar weather.

But what about inside the door and fender panels? Tailgate? Plush I'd rather pay for it and get a guarantee.

There's some small holes in the bottom of the door and panels you can spray the FF into, i just wash, wax, seal that area a few weeks ago and its 3 years old still looks brand new

I'm not rust proofing my '18 purchased a year a half ago. Live in central Va. My '96 is still solid after 23 years without rust proofing.

Your environment is much much different than a state or two north, no comparison. Op definitely do so.

Google "Rusted Tacoma frames" and then you will definitely be sure about rustproofing your new Tacoma. Krown, Fluid Film or anything else that inhibits rust is a must for these frames. There are tons of threads on here about the subject. If you plan on keeping your Tacoma for any length of time you need to protect the frame.

I wish I applied a rustproofing from day one. There is no downside by coating the frame with a product like Fluid Film. I have done the rocker panels the last time, but IMHO the frame is the most important area to coat before it's cover with brine/salt. Concentrate most importantly on coating the frame internally where most perforations start.

Ziebart is excellent as long as you make the yearly trip for inspection/respray as stated in the agreement

YES< YES< YES...… If you want your truck to have NO rust, rattles, squeaks, for yrs to come. My 2006 Taco passed the frame test with flying colors...from the dealer. They then started using it also.

I'm a full 100% customer. I keep my trucks 10+ yrs and they look like new when I trade.....

Here's the stuff.....CORROSION FREE... They drill holes if needed to get everything inside the doors, etc. $150 CDN....cheap insurance.

Here is a before and after spraying Mavcoat Steel Shield. Has a slight tack sort of a waxy feel. Truck was 2 months old before winter last year.
