Dome and map lights not turning ON in DOOR position

2019 Access Cab, 4200 miles...no modifications. I know it's under warranty, but I thought I ask here before taking to the dealer.

Dome light and both map lights work fine in the "ON" positions. When in the "Door" positions, and either or both doors open...none of them work. I do get a "door ajar" message when a door is open, so the door switch seems to be ok...I also actuated both door switches many times, so don't think that is the issue. Any ideas?

Do you lights turn on when you get close to the truck? Not sure if yours has the feature, but mine has a proximity lights that turn on when the key is near the truck. Could be a malfunction in that module thats blocking the lights from turning on.

they do not. I do have keyless entry, but lights never come on when switches in DOOR position.

 

Dealership date for probable warranty item...

 

I am not sure I understand, but want to rule out the obvious and easy fix.

Both the map light rocker switch and the dome light switch are set to door?

The Interior light setting on the radio menu is not set to off?

Problem solved. The "2019 Tacoma Owners Manual" does not contain info on how to set the entry lights ON/OFF times for trucks with the "EnTune Premium Audio" option...which I have. That info is only in "2019 Tacoma Multimedia & Navigation Manual". With EnTune, under Setup, there is a 2nd page of options. The one needed is "Vehicle". If you have Entune...configure the entry light times here:

Apps/Setup/Vehicle/Vehicle Customization/Lights Settings/Interior Lights Off Timer/7.5 sec, 15 sec, 30 sec, Off

Mine was set to "Off".

 

This second page is in the Head Unit, correct?

Anyone know why the vehicle option on this 2nd screen under Apps / Setup would not be "pressable" mine is greyed out.

I have a 2017 Tacoma 2.7 SR5

 

I'm not at my truck, but sometimes, certain items are greyed out unless you are in PARK, stopped, or both. Something to try.

 

Yeah, I figured as much. I was in the Garage, ignition ON and in Park. Maybe its a an upgraded feature I don't have. The lights work just fine if I manually turn them on, it's only when I open the door they don't turn on. I looked through the settings on the dashboard too, couldn't find anything for interior lighting.

 

Does the door open indicator led work?

 

The birds eye view of the truck on the dash? If so, then yes that works fine, it shows the doors opening and closing, no issues with that.
