    you cannot add fuel in closed loop. The ECU will trim it out. When you’re seeing your AFR drop you’re in open loop.

    the AFR calibrator modifies the signal from the factory o2/AFR sensor forcing the ECU to add fuel.

    on the 7th injector it tries to keep it at 13.5AFR. It not user programmable.

    the AFR calibrator is user adjustable so you can slightly drop the AFR until open loop.

    With the FIC6 you can offset the O2 to richen in closed loop boosted part of the map.

    I can get 12ish AFR in the 2500 rpm, 6-8 psi, closed loop transition part of the map. I definitely need to do way more tuning but it works well from 5000 to 13000' elevation.

    so if we richen the mixture without retarding timing, what happens? I know nothing will be perfect. But looking for better. Plug and play is preferable. There’s three of us in CO that can try one thing and another and report back.

    My thought is you get something to richen the mixture and add a point to your octane and that might do it.

    Has anyone thought of doing something with the throttle position sensor. Make it more open loop prone? Is that even possible.

    So after playing around with my supercharger looking at my air fuel ratio and my closed Loop on my way to work,

    The one thing I see is as soon as the methanol start spraying the air fuel ratio changes immediately and gets richer to 12 or 13 even in closed loop going to 11 on WOT

    Im assuming the size nozzle adding fuel added over rules the ECU trimming? To an extent
    IF I put a larger nozzle my AFR would be at 10-9 as I have done this before and the ECU can not change that, when spraying

    You are adding a combustible to your engine and seeing the AFR lower because of it.

    The ECU is seeing that also and probably attempting to trim it out. Whats your fuel trims while spraying Methanol?

    Right, you can do the same with the URD AFR calibrator and the 7th as well. The only difference is that the 7th is not user programmable. It’s right around 13.5AFR closed loop. Richer is not always better.

    I looked at the wiring instructions for the AEM vs the 7th and URD AFR Cal. They use the same method of tapping into the AFR sensor wire or intercepting the o2 sensor for earlier gens. I’m sure they’re doing the exact same thing.

    People shit all over the 7th when it’s exactly the same as the AEM as far as the features both share. The only difference is the URD adds fuel via a extra injector.

    plus the AEM can have switchable maps and tune on the fly. So it’s definitely superior in that aspect but there’s more invasive wiring unless you get a wiring harness.
