The problem is the Cops make sht ups, at time the pot is still illegal at CA. They said they have probable cause because smell pot inside of my car. but I dont even smoke (pot or cigarette).

Only place I ever got a ticket for front plate on the taco was at LAX. I was just cruising along with the flow of traffic and a motor officer pulled me over and cited me for it. He didn't mess with the rest of the truck. Just the front plate.

You may or may not get pulled over and/or ticketed. As others have said it gives them a reason to pull you over and snoop around if they want to though.

I believe cops don’t usually give tickets for front plate, because it’s correctional ticket. After you put on the plate and get dismissed.

This sounds good and all but if you don't have anything to hide you might as well let them search your car for 15 minutes and be on your way. If you do have something to hide, sounds like you're already fucked.

No cause they field test that shit and it reveals to be nothing and your on your way. Also most people don’t keep drugs ground up in their carpet or on the floor boards.

Good counter points. I’m well aware that people get falsely arrested frequently. although, I was unaware how inaccurate the field tests are. Basically what I’m saying is, if you get out of your car and demand a warrant or whatever they are going to think you’re suspicious. So then they’re gonna call the K-9 unit over, you’re gonna have to wait a while for that. Then they’re gonna get the dog out he’s gonna hit on your car weather you got anything in there or not. Now they have probable cause to search your vehicle or they have the evidence needed to get said warrant which they will proceed to get it. Now they’re gonna search your car ten times harder cause A. They think you’re trying to hide something and B. They’re pissed you’re wasting their time and opposing their authority. Basically I’m saying once a cop decides he wants to search your car, it’s getting searched. It can go quick easy or long and drawn out.

It's called "full faith and credit." States gotta respect each other's laws. But like a number of people have said in here, it's always potentially just another excuse for a douchebag power-hungry pig to pull you over and try to bust you for any little thing.

I was driving without front plates on my previous car for 1.5 years without any trouble..I've passed by countless cops, It seems like for the most part, they're just not looking...I did, however, keep it in my trunk along with the broken plate holder and planned on telling them that someone JUST backed into me in a parking lot today and that happened...(it really did happen once upon a time haha)

I think it's just a fix it ticket anyway...

I have been without front on vehicles for years with no issues. I keep it on my daily driver just in case i stop for a beer after wok. Dont give them a reason to pull you over. However i took my son to traffic court a while back, sat through 100 people going before the judge. At least 25% had a license plate charge added on their ticket... think im gonna put mine on...

IMO this all depends on the officer enforcing it and the car you drive. Most of the time larger vehicles won't encounter this (knock on wood). I own a few cars; tundra, 4runner, E46 M3 and F10 5 series and neither cars has front plates. The 5 series is stock w/ no front plates, the E46 was lowered (slammed), wheels, with stock exhaust. Never once got a look from any LEO in OC for my cars but I did however managed to attract an attention of an LAPD officer who literally made a U-Turn, rolled up behind me and pulled me over for this very reason. This was with my M3 a few years back. I work in LA (Manhattan Beach) and I drive my 4runner daily w/ no plates. I see LASD and LAPD's often but they never once look my direction. Had it been my lowered M3, it might've been diff. Now the M3 is all stock and just sits in my garage on PNO. lol

Now if you own a rice rocket... thats a whole nother story!

Yes, pulled over down at Imperial Sand Dunes near Glamis for no front plate on an 05' VW Touraeg, I believe the LEO was BLM or FWS. It was a federal officer but not sure what agency (I wasn't the driver). Was around 2012 on a "zero tolerance" weekend. On a daily basis CHP and local LE has better things to do, but if they want to pull you over, gives them a reason to do so. Best to keep it mounted.
