Same idea with a plow on the nose. Makes getting through a tight drive-thru an exercise in precision maneuvering. The Vee makes it easier, but you've still got an extra 2-3 feet out in front.

Do you get to stop at truck stops and pick up lot lizards? Sorry of like grand theft auto? Or get power ups along the way, like meth/ amphetamines?

Anyone know of a good shop that can do fluid film undercoating in the south shore (MA) area? Or anywhere in MA or RI?

Interesting. I can try do it myself with the spray cans, but I know it won't be thorough. I don't have a garage or a jack.

Edit: Looks like I need to head north to NH :) Any leads in NH?

Better late than never I guess :) I'll give them a call. From what I've read here, this stuff is mandatory in our area. Just got the truck, so I'm in the initial paranoia phase.

There's definitely shops doing fluid film in MA. Also a bunch of shops doing the NH Oil undercoating in MA. My Landcruiser has had the NH Oil undercoating since being brought out here from CO. Seems like it works well.

You could also just go to Lowe's, get some aerosol cans and do it yourself. You can get a 360deg wand to do the inside of the frame. I also have one of those spray paint can trigger handles that makes it much easier to do

I don't mind driving. I've done a few 24 hour straight runs no problem, only stopping for bathroom, gas and food.

Oooh the lot lizzards. I think since about 8th/9th grade my buddies and I would be on the lookout at the local track, rumors were there were some under the bleachers by turn 3. I still remember the first time I heard that phrase.

Doing it everyonce and a while is fun, I think with a big rig and daily it looses its appeal a little. I know driving 12 hours back with a uhaul from NC wasnt near as fun as doing it without a trailer.

No experience with a big rig, but I firmly believe that part of the driver's test ought to be getting behind the wheel of a truck with a moderately loaded trailer and have someone cut in front of you and lock the brakes up. Once you've had that sort of butt puckering experience, and realizing that trucks and trailers may not physically be able to stop that quickly, will hopefully make you think twice before doing it after you get your license. Granted, some people just drive like fucktards and don't give a shit, but it might help a few people.
