I’m needing to take the predator bars off, and put some rock sliders on...

I looking at taking advantage of Caliraised LED’s 15% off right now.

    They offer 0* and 25*.

I see most people running 15-25 degrees. Is there a reason why?

I figured the zero degrees would act as a nice step into the truck and also better protection against door dings.

Most people like them at 15-25 degrees so they're tucked up out of the way for maximum clearance offroad.

Even when angled you still get the benefits you mentioned...ding protection and a step. If you don’t get them with line-x add some grip tape where you step. Get slick when it’s rained.

And I think they look better angled too. The Cali raised ones are super close to the body

Not always. The way the door is shaped it "bows" out as it comes up from the rocker so a door will hit that area before the slider stops it (if its angled up and tight to the rocker). Depends on the slider obviously but buyer beware, there are definitely brands that don't offer ding protection when angled.

    That’s what I was thinking...
    Good to know.

I need to hurry up and decide what set I want to run, and pull the damn trigger on it.

    I’m still indecisive.

I really like my sos 18 degree sliders. Angled nicely and are super strong. and still stick out far enough for door dings.

If you care about protecting your doors the Cali raised angled sliders won’t do that

I'll have to look into those SOS ones...
I want an angled slider, but I want it to stick out far enough to protect against dings.

They both have their own pros, I personally have the 0 degrees, since I have a roof rack it provides a great step to reach up there, while also it's a great excuse to get "steps" for the wife

I went with the Caliraised 0 degrees, the wife and kids love them as a step but still have the function of a rock sliders protection (I don't do a lot gnarly rock crawling) so for average off road travel I have been very happy.

Straight makes a better step and sacrifices very little in the real world offroad. The only times that angled are a benefit offroad is in tight little chutes rock crawling, but you'll need to be honest on how often you expect to do that vs how often you use the slider as a step.

Other than 0°, there is no particular reason for the other angles. They typically are just a function of the design. 15°-25° are all roughly the same. Just depends on how they got laid out when designing them. The end result is functionally the same.

I agree. I have 5* RCI's with kick out to replace my nFab nerf bars. It's a compromise between protection and step up for my petite wife. The sliders will be installed Tuesday when I get home.

I second Demello. Good people and solid product. Haven’t seen many welds as clean either.
