I had to replace a few that required the metal sleeve to be reused. Definitely a pain in the ass. We found out that a torch burns the rubber off pretty nice and then just cleaned the sleeve up with a wire wheel

It does ok... the hills are a bitch. I think my truck is a bit underpowered already due to all the excess weight and bigger tires. I have a 6spd Manual so I never re-geared. It does fine on flat ground and rolling hills, but pulling a grade is a chore. You do get used to it though, I just take my time, and hit the right lane every time an incline comes.

Yeah it’s certainly not the only option, but it works great for our little crew. The year-round comfort is a huge plus. Snow storms near Bend in October, epic downpours in the Humboldt redwoods, 40 knot winds out at Jalama Beach, and ya just shut the door and all is well :)

The 1685 is as big as I’d tow with our platform though, any bigger and you’d need a 3/4 ton or at least a full-size truck/suv. We are a fam of 4, plus hound dog, and it gets tight, but we manage. I think that’s partly due to coming from the RTT ground tent background. I don’t find a need for a giant trailer, just one big enough to House our little crew!

Again, there are endless options out there, but this has been a definite win for us. I do look forward to a couple RTT trips a year, but for the bulk of our camping it’s load up Trailey and hit the road!

Another side note, the Lance Owner’s Group has a pretty awesome forum too... I was surprised, and kept laughing, it reminded me of the this thread but everybody had aged by about 30 yrs :) plenty of BS’ing and cool mods to the trailers tho.

Yeah that models dry weight is about what I want to try to stay around. Even with my V8. We’re looking at a similar one that’s 18-19’ plenty of space for the wife and myself.

I'm not a fan of pointless low profile tires. I'm not a fan of pointless period.

Thanks guys. Im more worried about the pup. Shes so stinking cute. My son was in tears which made my eyes sweat a little. Shes doing better now. Resting after some meds and an IV. I ordered some meds that a friend recommended too. The vet wanted 6k to keep her for a few days....... I don't have 6k laying around....my poor Miss Piggy. Hope she can pull through this
