Not for me. At least on this build. Wouldn't mind a dedicated crawler some day on 37s or something, but that's not where I'm headed currently.

 

This sounds like when engaging 4hi with the buzzer and all. Is that what you were checking?

The slow blink we were curious about the RR Diff Lock engagement, not 4hi.

I believe that there is a video of a person using a different type of grease and completely taking the driveline out because the way the fitting works is not very efficient at greasing.

It brings the surface gradually flush with the pins. So instead of sliding on the lca’s and they sticking on the pins, it can gradually slide up and then down. Typically if you are just barely sliding on an lca you can push through, but not if you hit a pin. The increased height is marginal compared to that of an lca skid.

And if you look at my lca’s you know I’ve used them pretty hard. They are only three years old.

I've never heard mine make a buzzing sound before...but then again I've never tried pushing it when I shouldn't (I assume that's when the buzz happens)

Good to know though, I had always figured if you tried doing it over 60mph you might just break something.

 

I pulled the jshift at 80 once, it's just noticable harder to pull cause the synchro works harder, so my guess is it's too hard for the little motor

i trusted the owners manual and service manual before the first time I did it.

 

It makes sense there would be something built into the system to keep it from trying to engage at high speed, if there wasn't I would imagine (hope) that they'd have put the button in a place that wasn't so easy to hit on accident. I've never hit mine on accident while driving but I have hit it before while getting into the truck and ended up starting it in 4hi.
