I have one I dropped a few years ago too, thickness varies of course due to free age. How thick? May be a few more days before I tackle the trees.

Getting there but it is harder than I thought. I just need to practice every day. Yesterday I was a chief judge at a polling location in our city and today I was just too tired. Arthur has my right foot and will not let go.

Sorry to hear about your Artie ritus kicking up Tom. Have a mild case in my lower back but try not to let it hold me back.
Watching you tube can give you many ideas on how to get good results with videos and using a gimbal. Practice is good and when a video comes together, its rewarding. Keep us posted.

    Will do Ken.

Off to Target this morning to purchase a pack of Smithfield extra tender spare ribs. I want to try them out for dinned tonight. So far you can only get them at Target or Walmart. I might want to buy a pair of casual pants. All of my other casual pants are too big nowadays. Not a bad problem to have.

    Morning all:
    Just mustering in!
FINALLY got a buck yesterday, decent 10 pt. and a nice dark rack. Getting it out of the woods, mostly uphill, reminded me that I'm old!

Four pointer, do you count the eye guards in your count? Nice.

That's the way I was taught to count the points on antlers, too. Seems the easterners do it the other way.

Yup, all points you can hang a ring on count, if it were an Elk it would be a 5x5!

Two calls today, two different numbers to call SSA. First was a number for a closed bakery in Texas. Didnt write the second number down. Rotary dial phone so no caller ID.

Out west we just count one side, eye guard not counted. That is how I learned back in the late 60's, some hunting mag.

Carl, you are the man! Congratulations on your 10 point buck ( Southern and Eastern count ).

Out West they only count one side or 4x4 or 6x5. I kind of like our way better, probably because I grew up here.

Western style my oldest son did get a 5x5 and a 6x5 elk hunting in Colorado ( not the same year ).

Can get guys harvest more than one buck per season?

Until a few years ago Alabama hunters could harvest 1 buck and 1 doe or 2 does per day from the beginning of archery season on October 15th through the end of gun season on January 31st.

Now we can harvest 4 bucks per season and 1 doe per day October 15th through Feb 10th.

Obviously most hunters do not try to harvest more than they need so deer populations remain high.

:woot:on getting a buck Carl. Looks like a nice rack for wall hanging. Looks like the freezer will be getting stocked up for winter .

You're not expecting snow already Harry...Better to be prepared than getting caught with your pants oops I mean plow off. Arctic blast heading in with the possibility of snow on Tuesday in my area. :annoyed:

    Morning all:
Thanks for all the comments on the buck!
We are only allowed 1 buck in PA and only as many doe that we can get a tag for. I had 3 doe tags and used one for a DMAP area where I got a doe, so 2 left. My buddy and I both agreed to save the doe tags for flintlock season, which we both like to hunt, and right now we both have enough deer meat. If he can get a buck he won't pass it up, but the doe are safe for now! If we get another deer it will probably be all jerky and slim jims , but the sausage comes first. The slim jims I have made are really really good and don't last too long, plus they always get shared with a few friends.
