Hello, I'm about to re-join the Tacoma world again! Truck is an '01 DC that needs a bit of love.

A pressing issue is the drivers door lock actuator makes one hell of a terrible noise when actuated. These suckers are $250+!

My question is, could the actuator be bypassed and have a cheaper replacement one added on the lock/door handle assembly as if the truck didnt have power door locks?

    Something like this:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01MDLUTPC/ref=cm_cr_arp_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8

Just tap into the power and ground already at the actuator and wire in the new one?

Some How I doubt they that will last very long so if you go that route you will get very good pulling the door apart to change out things!!

    Buy extras .

My electric locks quit about 3years ago they were a pain and I saw no real advantage to fixing them unlike the right window which I do enjoy
