Yes another Toytec lift question

Sorry I know I know.....beat to death. Im just having a problem decyphering between all the different combos and comments people are saying. Ive just purchased a 2006 dc sr5 4x4 and i would like to lift it a bit. I do minor off roading nothing crazy at all. just your typical goin out in the woods on trails. no real crawling or anything like that. i had a 2000 tundra sr5 4x4. Most of my driving is to and from work. About 20 miles of highway. Toytec has that kit for $299. I was thinking the standard 884 springs and the aal. Maybe or maybe not using the spacer for the full lift. Is that a decent set up for just some minor off roading and to give the truck a nice stance? Im on a bit of a budget that why this kit seems appealing. Would i be spending a ton of money on fixing different things on my truck as time goes on? Id like to give my truck a better stance with the ability to go out and have fun but i dont want to turn it into a money pit fixing things. I apologize for a beat to death topic but with all the knowledge that you all sling around here its tough to keep track sometimes haha. thanks in advance.

 

Bilstein 5100's plus an AAL...

 

what else would i need for that setup? Just the shocks and the aal's thats it? I guess the more and more i look at the toytec site im leaning to the OME kit or saving up for quite some time for the ultimate. Im just really impatient and was just curious about the $299 kit.

 

Lots of folks on these forums use Bilstein 5100s all around. The shock itself is adjustable to give you a lift in the front even with the stock springs. To lift the back you need to add an "add a leaf" to get it higher.

I was really close to just orderinging the 5100s and AAL myself a couple weeks ago.

 

Depends on how much you want to spend, and how much lift you want. I went with 5100's all around with a 2" AAL, and some Toytec/ Eibach lift springs in the front set at the 0.85 setting on the 5100's. Rides nice, and I got a little over 2" both front and back. You can set the 5100's at 0, 0.85, 1.75, and 2.5 inches of lift on the stock springs, but the more you lift it the stiffer it will be...others have done this, and can give you ideas of what it is like, or you can just search like I did when I first got the idea.
